When Grid Power Is Out This Phone is Useless ... i recommend to HughesNet that they offer a 12 volt battery backup system package that automaticlly powers up when the Grid power is down ... incoming and outgoing calling all the time .... a home phone system that does not function every minute of the day & night is not worth paying for as Emergency Situations may happen any time
