Just picked up an Asus AC3100

That puppy takes the Merlin firmware.

Pointless if you don't have the speed from you're is

You would call traffic monitoring by MAC address pointless on a data capped service ?

Do you see how many complaints there are related to "missing data" most of which are likely rooted by activity of wireless devices ?

Speaking of speed I have been getting 19 to 27 Mbps. Not bad by satellite standards.

It monitors usage by device, wise choice old man. Speed is divided among devices when connected at the same time. Again, wise choice old man.

I haven't installed it yet but I downloaded the Merlin firmware.

A whopping 463 MB zip file. That's fat one for firmware.

That's huge. The FW update for my ASUS was 6 MB.

Lol, and there it is once again. Me thinks you have the data to spare.  🙂

It is top of the line and most likely has lots of bells and whistles my old school RT-56R does not. I think time to change screen name to McDuck.

Um, 44 MB according to my screen: https://www.mediafire.com/folder/6tx06ijxrcctn/RT-AC3100

So, when you gonna delve into PFSense? 🙂

Logon Page:

Main Page: Shows everything at a glance, from traffic stats and real time traffic, to system activity.

Monitoring, lets you view pretty much anything from CPU/Memory usage, to latency and throughput in many different intervals.

DHCP Leases: Comes in handy when you are trying to find someone snooping on your network if you register DHCP leases in the ARP tables.

Firewall Rules: Little difficult to setup, but once you figure it out, it dawns on you how simple it can be.

Gotta love local proxy cache and being able to blacklist anything you dislike.

Traffic monitoring.  This is a bit more detailed than the system monitor, it's an addon package.

Gotta love when people visit bad websites. 🙂

Very impressive corrosive, alas I have not the room for another "box".

Besides that even following your PDF guide it would be a steep learning curve 🙂
