I had the same issue and came up with a solution offered by a commenter on the Philips MEET THE HUE website used to do the linking. Apparently, synchronization via that site can’t make it past the Hughes modem. The solution was to take your iPad (or whatever) and your Philips bridge to a friend’s house with a different ISP and try to link there. They said once you returned home, the link would be remembered. I DID EXACTLY THAT TODAY AND IT WORKED! I can now successfully issue such commands as, “Alexa, turn the table lamp red”.

Okay, so I hooked up my pre-WWII Western Electric phone because I love the ring, but on a whim today I tried making a call from it. It worked. A dial pulse phone!

It was on a DirecTV channel. Tasteful and not irritating. That's good as I expect to see it replay for at least a year or two. Greatful to never see the simpleton whose "bike is faster too" again.

Your reading my mind. I have a refurbished Western Electric Model 302, Circa 1940s "Lucy phone". I don't talk on it, but the sound of the Internal Ringer takes me back to childhood.

The HUGESNET SUPPORT person that helped me was Edward Anderson, case number 103236522. Only required one call, though he made multiple transactions to add the tokens and then credit my account.

a) neither phone will work b) both will work, Hughes just doesn't want you to complicate things c) the second phone will catch fire and burn down your house d) HughesNet will get mad and eat your tokens e) none of the above Why do I ask? I've got one phone with a really loud ring I appreciate. I've got another that I will actually use in operation that works well in all aspects but its soft ring.

Keep an eye on your tokens when you upgrade. I had six tokens in the bank before upgrading and zero afterward. I called customer service, and they replaced them for me.

Okay, here's the deal. I called support and they have created a case. They could also not see the video optimization options showing up for my account at any of the places they were supposed to be. GEN-5 being so new in my area seems to be the issue. Case number assigned and solution to be worked on. Very nice, knowledgable, determined young man helped. Yes he had an accent. No, that wasn't a problem. He was a bulldog in his desire to be of service.

No, I do have the latest version of the app -- ALSO and on my PC the latest version of the Hughesnet Status monitor. Neither show the options for video control shown on the link Liz gave me. Is their some setting on the modem that needs to active this capability?
