I think I have discovered your problem as well as mine and most everyone else. On Myhughesnet.com there are two windows. one that provides the user with access to news, entertainment, sports etc. and next to it is a window that has streaming video in it and comes on with regularity causing you to manually shut it down. In the process the streaming video eats into your/our data usage. I spoken with Tech Support on a number of occasions and no one seems to be able to control this. Which leads me to believe that this could be a business plan of HughesNet to have our data usage drained. Should anyone be interested in filing a Class Action Suit, I'll be ready to join. I am fed up with this company.
