@Liz  It seems after about a little over an hour speeds have gone back up to around 20Mbps. Speedtest.net is now working too though it's giving me inconsistant results from 9-29Mbps. @Liz  Monday night at 10pm on Feb. 5th my speeds have gone back down to sub 1Mbps. I was switched to ES17 Beam 3 a few weeks ago. It was on Beam 3 when this new problem started but after I rebooted my modem it now shows me on Beam 35. I was able to get testmy.net and Verizon speed tests to work which showed 1Mbps or less. I know we don't use testmy.net anymore but I couldn't get any other speed test to work including speedtest.net. They would all give me a server connection error or a latency error. I don't know why all of a sudden I'm on a new beam, beam 3 was fine until tonight. If you look closely at my test results, I haven't had speeds over 1Mbps during the PM hours since Dec. 22nd. On average I get about 200-300kbps during those times. I know Gen5 is capable of good service, I too got Gen5 in the beginning and the speeds were great. Gradually it got worse until now where I'm running in Kbps speeds continuously. The gradual decrease in service sure does back up the theory of reaching overcapacity over time. ... View more

Ok, so after the outage, the speeds are horrible around the clock now. Less than 2Mbps from midnight to 6am, less than 200Kbps during prime time, and early afternoon 500Kbps. What the heck!? It's odd, things got better for a while but this week speeds went down across the board. Even in the wee hours of the morning it was below 10Mbps when before I've been getting over 30Mbps consistanly. The sub 500Kbps speeds have been starting earlier and continuing later into the evening as well, now lasting until 12am or later. I'm getting speeds in the 100-200kbps range right at this moment not in FAP. Pages are taking minutes to load, secure pages failing to load, and the speed test taking near 10 minutes to complete. @Liz  Something is definitely wrong tonight. I just did a speed test that lasted 8 minutes with a result of 435 kbps. That is at 7:54pm PST. That is the worst that it has ever been. Web pages aren't even loading now. I don't know how you go from 21.32 Mbps one day to the next day being 435 kbps at the same hour. I thought we were going forward but tonight took a huge step back. @Liz  Speeds are hovering around 10Mbps during busy hours (which is way better!) but videos are still buffering rather frequently on 144p setting. That's still pretty bad. Does HughesNet not play nice with YouTube? Has there been any changes to help out beam 55 in the last week? Thanks! ... View more
