As our nearest neighbors are over a mile away; there's a lot of activity here. Uploading photos to a cloud is simple. Using wireless cams uploading in real time isn't a challenge either. I apologize for communicating what I've learned over years about trail cams. I'll limit offering any advice here in the furure. We had a prowler. So I mounted a camera in a window.. I have a bunch of photos of the bear wandering around before he checked out the bass boat.. Other cams caught the prowler at night. Re: Security Cameras Game cameras take pictures and/or videos of everything that moves; even trees moving in the wind, birds flying, heavy rain etc. I delete a few thousand pictures every week. Depending on the settings; each picture is usually 3.5 meg. Camera1 1245 pictures Camera2 3925 pictures Camera3 1248 pictures Camera4 1032 pictures Camera5 1102 pictures. Not something, I want to upload. We call this bear the peeping bear as he always walks by the bedroom window.. Re: Security Cameras We have a cabin in the mountains in NE Georgia located in the Chattahoochie NF and 9 game cameras on the property. I have pictures of bears, cougars, bobcats, coyotes, coydogs, turkeys, deer, feral cats and more. When triggered, the cameras take 3 pictures.. Triggered includes when the wind blows trees and bushes move; as a result, the camera takes 3 pictures. When it rains real hard; the camera takes 3 pictures. Due to wind moving; a camera took over 4000 pictures in 3 days. To a cloud that is a lot of traffic. Re: Internet speed We have a house with hardline 12 meg or so internet and a cabin with Hughes net. At either location, we notice congestion or lack of available bandnet slow downs at peak hours. Winstream offers a hardline service at the cabin. Which is about as fast as the old dial up DSL I had back in the 1990s. In short, my only complaint about Hughes net is the same as DirecTV. Or when it is raining real hard; no service. Overall, we are quite happy with Hughes.
