Re: New Gen 5 owner in Northern California (slow as molasses) I'm sorry- I can't do a lot of research because my internet is TOO SLOW! Re: New Gen 5 owner in Northern California (slow as molasses) I don't want a refund- I just want someone to waive the $955 cancellation fee and we can both just walk away from this mess. However, my experiences with Hughesnet over the last 12 years lead me to think that they will never do that. They're just not that type of company. You don't get to be the worst rated ISP in the history of the internet by actually doing things for your customers. You can write all the letters you want, but I wouldn't get your hopes up. Re: New Gen 5 owner in Northern California (slow as molasses) Yes, it is a business account- altho how you can be expected to do business at these unpredictable speeds is beyond me- so the cancellation fee is $880. Info was correct. Re: New Gen 5 owner in Northern California (slow as molasses) You really need to talk to your customer service people then, because that is direct form the horses's mouth. Re: New Gen 5 owner in Northern California (slow as molasses) Got excited this morning- mytest showed 28 MBS at 7:30, but then it went downhill form there all morning- now 2.1. Took three minutes for the forum page to load. By the way- did you know that the cancellation fee for Gen 5 users is $900? Re: New Gen 5 owner in Northern California (slow as molasses) Wow- lucky you, My last mytest said 9 KBPS. Put in a call to Rural net and Verizon- we'll see what happens. By the way, I have had Hughesnet for over 10 years, and this is the worst it's ever been. As well as the most expensive. But, in their defense, this is better customer service than it used to be. A couple years ago you would have had no communication from them whatsoever. Re: New Gen 5 owner in Northern California (slow as molasses) Interesting- we are also Northern CA, also Sierra foothills, same problems. Testmy says 2.2 to 2.4 on the 25 MB test. Called tech twice, they did some resets, still 2.2. Can't even listen to music, let alone anything with video. This is really not what I am paying for.
