Hughes must have fixed the problem before. I asked about the problem in 2018 if I remember right. Now it came back on two of my computers but one works OK. Re: This site can’t be reached The connection was reset error message. Have the several people who say they cannot access treasurydirect called Hughes and started trouble tickets or just assuming somebody is working on their problems? They might not be. Re: This site can’t be reached The connection was reset error message. All I know was I could not use the Internet one night and the next day learned that was an outage. When I tried treasurydirect.gov the next day it worked. I just tried again and got in. The only problem was putting in the right password. I did get another call from Hughesnet and a number to call back. When I talked to a rep she looked through case notes and said there was not much in the notes but like I said it is working for me. Hope they can get this going for you. There is one post from someone in the replies to my original post saying something about passing info to a rep. See if you can find that but that is all I can think of Rebate for installation between 10/02/2017 and end of 2017 I had Hughesnet installed and got a form for a rebate in early December. The rebate form said to wait until I had two invoices and as of today I have two of them since a charge hit my credit card. When I went to fill out the rebate form I noticed the last day the forms would be accepted was January 1st 2018. This seems to mean anybody who had an installation in December is ineligible for the rebate and may well think they have been taken. Re: This site can’t be reached The connection was reset error message. Treasudirect.gov is now working for me. Thanks to anyone who helped fix whatever the problem was. Re: This site can’t be reached The connection was reset error message. Hughesnet called back yesterday with unknown caller on caller ID and the person sounded like she was reading me a script saying they were working on speeding up Internet response time. I interrupted her and told her my problem was with not getting at a certain web site so she put me on hold and we were disconnected in a minute or so. Re: This site can’t be reached The connection was reset error message. Bad luck on my end. We got a call this morning from an unknown caller according to Caller ID similar to some people who almost got my wife to give them her Medicare number this week so I let it ring. When I Googled the telephone number it turned out it could have been Hughesnet getting back in two days. I called back but it must not have been a number people answer. If anyone gets any more information I hope they will post it. I will start again when I get time to see if I can learn why they called. Re: This site can’t be reached The connection was reset error message. I called them yesterday and the person l talked with tried to get the problem to the engineering group again. Nobody got back tp me the first time tney tried. If you are having trouble getting I hope you will also call them. Squeaky wheels get more grease. I am not sure this problem can be fixed because of the way Treasurydirect does security but hope they do not give up too soon. Re: This site can’t be reached The connection was reset error message. I talked to a very helpful tech support guy yesterday and he said he was going to resubmit the problem since nobody got back to me when it was first passed up to an advanced engineering group. Please also call them and say there is a problem. I am not sure this one can be fixed but squeaky wheels tend to get more grease. Re: This site can’t be reached The connection was reset error message. For curiosity I unplugged the modem and then started it up again. I was able to get at Treasury Direct. I clicked the logon button and got a logon screen. I entered my account number and clcked the submit icon but then got the error message again. Is this progress by the engineers or merey concidence?
