But, you may totally want to consider using a "third party" service such as Google, or, Outlook/Live/Hotmail/WHATEVERITSCALLEDTODAY from M$. I would not trust in ISP provided email lasting much longer... Aside from security issues, it's not really a selling point like it was back in the 90's. Honestly I strongly suggest anyone using Hughesnet email to stop doing so, and shift towards another provider, and update your contact information on all your web-logins. Five months later... Was going to reply to this thread,https://community.hughesnet.com/t5/myAccount-and-Billing/Plan-changes/m-p/136474#M10242 But, guess that didn't last long for Gen4 plans... It doesn't even mention a data allowance increase for the price increase...🙄 What's funny, this is referencing my Gen4 Choice plan, thats currently $49.99/month yet the Prime Plus listed on available plans is double the data, at $59.99, and I will be getting charged $59.99 + fees... Doesn't make sense unless all plan prices will be changing on 7/21... Plan changes... I haven't yet recieved the notice, but I know I will... But I have a few questions that might apply to a few others... HopefullyLizcan answer this, as shes aware of the... Peculiarities of my multiple accounts. I have one account with Gen4 Choice plan, 5GB, for $49.99/m... These questions impact that account only, and not the children accounts. From the sounds of things, that means I will be going to 7.5GB, and $54.99 correct? Or am I being bumped to another tier entirely, and have to pay a good bit more? I highly doubt that Hughesnet has a 7.5GB plan in place for those on the Gen4 Choice plan. Also, will these changes also take place with SME accounts? SolvedRe: New 75 GB plan I don't like the wording in that, what so ever... Depending on the price increase, it may cause a lot to jump ship. Infrastructure costs have surely gone up... Though, it seems this is a change of contract, hence the 30 day notice they are stating... This means even newly registered users can freely jump ship with no ETF... What throws me for a loop is, I am on a VERY old plan, a 5GB Gen4 Choice plan, so is there going to be a 7.5GB plan, that's only $5 more? Or am I going to be seeing a $20 or $30 increase? I can afford $5... Maybe $10... But if this bumps me to the next plan tier entirely, then I might actually have to abandon ship regardless of my status... Food is hard enough to afford right now :\ Re: Plan reset, lost tokens. Liz PM sent with more information... Re: Plan reset, lost tokens. Liz I have also had a reset on all my terminals, not sure of my tokens as I never look at them, or buy them, or anything of the sort, but it appears this data reset and token issue might be a bit wider spread... maratsade I bet if you look at your terminal status, it will show that you got reset as well. Re: Retiring of the Usage Meter - Dumb Decision!! You can easily continue to use your Hughesnet Usage/Status meter. However, functionality of it will start to become limited, such as buying tokens. Newer modems will not be added to the list of modems that it can read either. The best long-term solution is to create a favorites link to the SCC of your Hughesnet modem if you want easy and quick access to the usage information. Re: Can I set up pass through in my HT2000 and let only my EdgeRouter handle ports for forwarding? The HT2000w doesn't have the ability to be put into Bridge mode, or act as strictly a modem. On top of that, like Mark said, if you are a residential customer, you are behind a Double-NAT, port forwarding will serve absolutely no benefit. The requirements to be able to do port forwarding on Hughesnet are as follows. 1: Have a Business Account 2: Request Static IP services during signup, if they are still available that is. 3: Recognize that the HT2000w is a combo unit without the option to bridge - you will be forwarding ports more than once, once at the HT2000w, and once again at your Edge Router. You have to be aware, the HT2000w has limited options for port forwarding. You can read more here, but it is a guide for if you do meet all the criteria. Re: Home Web Server Ports are Unreachable Yeah... You're going to need a business account, as well as request Static IP... Be aware that termination costs on SME accounts are twice that of residential service, and the service it self is more expensive... I strongly suggest you get setup with a webhost, would be far faster for end clients, and probably cheaper in the long term than hosting via an SME account. I only do it because, "why not?".
