Blink mini security cameras
I have the 100 GB plan. Trying to set up Blink mini security cameras. Two issues- the 2GHz, not 5 is the only option when picking the WiFi and when asked for password it keeps saying incorrect. Is there something else I’m missing? I’ve also reached out to the Blink support.1.1KViews0likes1CommentBest setup for repeater operation
Greetings - I'm new here. I just got service set up and am suffering some issues with my intended operation. The satellite internet service is intended to replace a cellular mobile hotspot that I use at a remote location. The setup has a handful of internet devices, three of which are in a metal building that is 115 feet from the HT2010 (formerly hotspot). The devices include two Nest Protect units and a single 2.4 GHz wifi-controlled air conditioner that connects via the NetHome Plus Android app. The metal building barrier and the distance are overcome by using a NetGear EX7000 set up as a repeater. The repeater uses an outside coaxial cable-connected directional antenna with 20 dB gain pointing at the modem and a coaxial cable-connected omnidirectional antenna inside the building (it uses this second cable-connected antenna because the repeater resides in an intermediate room in the metal building). The setup worked fine when connected to the cellular mobile hotspot. After connecting to the HT2010, I was unable to get a reliable connection to the A/C and the Nest Protect units. The 5 GHz band never connected to the repeater, so I used the 2.4 GHz band. The EX7000 reported signal strength of about 50% in that band. If the problem is not related to the double NAT, would you expect a third party router (I'm looking at TP-Link AX3000) to handle my situation better? If it is related to the double NAT, do you have any ideas how to determine this is the case?1.8KViews0likes1CommentXbox Issues
First off, I am aware that HughesNet is not "recommended" for playing online Xbox games, so no need to say that. I am aware of the lag and everything that comes along with it. However, I choose to deal with it so that I can still play games with my friends. Anyways, here's my issue. Regardless of the latecy, speed, etc., the issue I want to address is that my NAT settings keep popping up as Double NAT. This issue makes it incredibly hard, and sometimes impossible, for me to join games that my friends are playing. I know this is a HughesNet issue, and not a Xbox issue. I have tried all of the generic ideas that people always try to throw at me, such as using an ethernet cord (no that doesn't fix it), so I'm looking for a more detailed idea. Maybe something with bridging connections or deleting something or some actual setting change inside of my HughesNet router settings. I've tried port mapping to no avail. I believe the Gen5 modem is the source of the issue, and it acts like I have conflicting issues with my IP Address. I've tried many things honestly, so please suggest a real solution or at least a good starting point. I know I can't be the only person experiencing this, yet I can't find anything when I search these threads.11KViews0likes10CommentsDish DVR Hopper and HN
I want to understand how the DVR uses my data or when not use it. If I record a live show and go to another channel is it using my internet? How about recording a program at a later time? Using on demand... Any help on saving internet would be great!Solved11KViews0likes7CommentsCaregiver needs help with remote cam viewing, (Ring??) of my home-bound husband...
Ok, I've read many posts and am still paralized with confusion. Lately I have purchased several products that are supposed to let me remotely view my husband in the house while I am outside...a quick run to the store, in the yard, etc. but nothing is working as I need it to work. Now I am looking at the "Ring" because I can watch it from my Android, call emergency services if needed, use more than one camera??, so on and so forth. I am 65 and am a bit computer savy but not like some of you that can rattle things off in a moment so, for this purpose, let's say I'm not tech savy at all. I'm sure I only have the very basic Hughes net plan as my husband and I are retired, (earlier than planned because of his health), and don't have an endless bank account to support a really large jump in HughesNet costs to a better plan. I also live in a wooded area in a very small town with AT&T as our cell phone provided WHICH provides VERY POOR service out here!!! Constantly dropped calls or dead service INSIDE the home - the reason we have HughesNet and not some faster big city internet. So, here's what I need: A service like Ring that will let me observe my husband when I run up to the store or am outside...mowing the yard, etc.. I'd like to be able to call 911 if needed and have two way conversation abilities. So, that means I would need to uses what HughesNet is providing us with a remote viewing device (Ring??). So many products I've researched come so close to working until ... for example, I've read in these forums that some people are using a certain remote viewing device only to find when they switch to HughesNet that that device is no longer supported and therefore they can no longer used it. If you are using a remote viewing device through HughesNet Wifi or even a straight USB connection, please let me know what device it is and...everything I would need to know. Thank you so much! I am exhausted with researching and my husband's health has come to a place that I can rarely leave him unless I can watch him and then be able to call 911 if needed. Thanks again!Solved3.9KViews0likes1CommentRoku can limit your bandwidth usage...
This is something I don’t think you can do with competing set top boxes - specifiy a maximum connection speed for streaming video. Could be very useful (and I’ve confirmed it works with a latest-gen Roku stick...) https://www.howtogeek.com/289289/how-to-limit-bandwidth-usage-on-your-roku/12KViews4likes1Comment
