Is It Time To Upgrade My Device?

When is it time to upgrade your favorite device? It’s a question that can only be answered by you! However, we would like to provide some tips that may help you decide when is the best time to upgrade.

Do you prefer the reliability of the device you’ve been using for years? If it isn’t broken, why upgrade it? Will a new device really improve my experience?

These are just a few of the questions you will need to consider when it is time to upgrade your phone, TV, or any other electronic device in your household. In the following article, we will provide some recommendations on when your old device may need replacing.

1. Performance:

While your current device may be working just fine, newer options come with upgrades you may have not considered. For instance, by upgrading you could experience faster speeds, higher resolutions, and other quality of life features that you may not be aware of.

If your device seems sluggish or does not last very long without charging, a more affordable option may be to simply replace the battery. Apple offers a service where a professional will replace your battery for a fee. The fee varies from model to model, so it’s best to check the Apple website to get a total cost https://support.apple.com/iphone/repair/battery-replacement

Compare what your current device offers compared to the new model and make the best decision for yourself!

2. Support:

Is your device still supported by the manufacturer? Whether it is a gaming system, phone, tablet, or TV, most of your smart devices require software updates to operate at their best! Additionally, updates provide more than User Interface enhancements. Many software updates include bug fixes and updates to address various security vulnerabilities.

Cybersecurity experts advise against using not just smartphones, but any smart devices and software that no longer receives security updates or support.

If your device is no longer supported or cannot receive updates, we recommend looking into upgrade options.

3. Functionality:

Is your device able to interface with the other devices in your home? Are you able to access both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi bands provided with your HughesNet Modem?

If not, you are not getting the most out of your internet service or your device! Devices manufactured prior to 2009, and in some cases 2011, will not have any access to the 5GHz Wi-Fi Band.
