Maybe I'm misunderstanding this, as I don't have anything networked, nor would I even know how to do so, but why would you want to watch something on your phone or desktop that you have recorded on your Genie's DVR?
My wife lives on steady diet of Bravo, HGTV and Hallmark Channel. Imagine bogarting the TV on that.
I'd want it just to be able to watch something I recorded the evening before in another room.
