Coax to ethernet

Is there any way to convert the coax cable coming from the dish to an ethernet cable so that I can get rid of the hughesnet router?

No. In order for it to work you will need a modem. However, it has to be a HughesNet-compatible modem. As far as I know only HughesNet makes those. The HughesNet modem has WiFi built in, but you could use another router, if that is what you want.
