Justin my experience is just opposite of  yours. I have always received higher speeds than advertised and by setting the playback setting in Netflix to SD I can watch at least 3 movies a week plus have 4 laptops on the internet all day long everyday and I leave the auto updates turned on so not everyone has an issue and those that do can usually get it fixed. Lea if you insist on leaving the router hooked up at least clear the traffic monitor and write down what time you did this and clear Glasswire and then take a scree shot of the status meter then in 24 hours take a screen shot of the status meter, traffic monitor and glasswire and post the screen shots here and we maybe able to see whats doing it. As for your question about routers, yes hughes works with routers it just works better with some more than others but that not hughes fault its the router manufacture problem. but as long as you have the latest firmware in your router then you should be ok. Also keep in mind that Netgear has a problem with seeing the current firmware. you need to do a google search for your model and version number to see if there is actually a update ... View more

Oh yes this will work perfectly. in the Glasswire program we need to clear the data in it to start fresh, follow the screen shots if you dont know how to clear it then wen need to clear the routers data monitor but Im not sure how to do that so I will have to check on that unless you already know so some one else here may know then we can what your router says you have used in a 1 day period and Glasswire and Hughesnet and see how they compare. the router should be the correct one ... Hi Ron, looks like the newest meter, Hughes has managed to make it compatible with all modems I think. well Im pretty sure, lol other than on the 9000 it has that big blank spot where the bonus/free period is. the cloud service your talking about Im guessing you mean when you clicked on the pic, if so that just how all pics show up on her if Im not mistaken I will read through all this and see if theres anything I can add but it looks like Lix has a good grip on this. 🙂  ... Carla you should probably check and make sure you router has the latest firmware in it because there is a issue with Linksys routers and data drain, this may not be the problem but its best to update just to be sure ... View more

It really depends on the website your trying to open, like Netflix, when trying to stream through Chrome I have to disable TP just to get it load and stream without buffering, this has always been that way for me, when accessing any https sites where Im trying to place an order I have to disable it or the verification process either times out or wont complete at all but just normal web browsing enabling TP does speed thing up so there is no real rhyme or reason to it. ... I dont think it should drop that fast either based on what little you were doing, you mentioned that you have a Iphone, what model? the reason I ask is because the IOS 8.0.0 - 8.0.1 had issues with wifi connections and can cause data lose due to retrying to connect, keep in mind im just guessing here. what I would suggest next is to only connect 1 computer to your router and do some browsing and see if your data seems to be dropping at what you would call a normal level, if 1 computer does ok then add the other one and see, if its ok with the 2nd computer then add your other computers or devices 1 at a time until you start seeing the data dropping at that point remove the devices 1 at a time in reverse order to see if the drop stops. another option is to download a program Net Guard here is a link to it and its free. you will need to install it on all computers you connect to your router and it will tell you what programs are using data and how much. unfortunately Im not familiar with this software but there are a couple of other customers on here that know it very well, they are Gwalk900 and sgoshe they can help you understand how to read it.  http://www.cucusoft.com/netguard.aspx ...
