Disagree all you want, but Hughes has no control over another companies Blacklists, nor over IRC Operators banning procedures. Hughes can't give everyone a static IP, nor their own IP, there are no more IPv4 addresses left world-wide.

While these addresses do belong to Hughes, from the link you provided, the proxy they list was added because it could be used publically, and will stay added according to dronebl.org FAQ. IMO, it's not a Hughes issue, it's more or less the issue of out-dated banning methods by "spam lists" and people that use such lists.

A router is a device that separates two different networks... Why would you not be allowed to have a router? Anyone is allowed to have them, they go from extremely cheap and climsy, to very expensive high end ones with a lot of bells and whistles.

Hughes tends to keep dual LAN to enterprise only systems... Tends to be useful for failover networks, where if one router or firewall fails, another automatically takes over for the network. Don't really see dual LAN being useful for consumers as most have a router already.

Might be best to use Internet Explorer, for some reason Chrome likes to block popups for no reason, even if you allowed the popup exceptions. Also, there is no reason to create a new Tab.

From my understanding, even while in a suspended state you still have to pay the lease fees of the equipment if you leased, as well as taxes on the lease.

If I could sense how tight bolts are when I am rebuilding an engine, I would be in heaven, and very rich. No more buying torque wrenches and angel gauges when they fail. Of course we are talking of two entirely different amounts of pressure.

My only words about the torque listed in the books... Never ever have I seen an installer use a torque wrench to torque the connections to the listed spec, nor the bolts that secure the dish. They use a wrench till it's just flat out tight, which is a bit... stupid IMO.

Pretty sure it's Quad shielded and swept to 3Ghz, couldn't remember if CC was allowed on the center conductor or if it has to be pure copper.

It's not a good idea to use them as a repeater. Wirelessly = Repeater = BAD (signal saturation, cross-talk, data collisions, slow-downs on particular bands in many scenarios) Wired = AP, different channels, devices switch between the channels depending on whats strongest. I just never would use a Wireless repeater, they are not healthy networking wise IMO.

I highly suggest two high powered routers either from ASUS or D-Link, set one up in AP mode, and run a Cat6 cable from the first floor router to the second floor. Have both routers setup with the same SSID, and try to locate both routers in the center of the home.

Is this a multi-level home? You are going to need more than a Wifi Extender, your going to need an actual Access Point or three in a home this large, especially if you have multiple floors. As for testing the internet connectivity, can you connect a computer directly to your modem and see how it goes connectivity wise? If it works fine, then we can move onto a better router, and possibly access points.

One thing I would like to add, if you ARE doing this your self, consider running two cables, it's much easier if one ever goes bad to swap the cables around, it would also give you room if you ever wanted another dish out in that location in the future.

Wish Alan was around, he would be able to tell you exactly what grade cable you would need. I honestly like the conduit idea, but it's more time consuming to dig up and lay conduit then run the cable inside that.

Usually installers don't carry cable that's rated for direct burial as they aren't required to do a direct cable burial installation if they don't have to. Getting direct burial would make the install cost more out of your pocket, mostly due to the extra labor and fact the cable costs so much more.

As long as the cable is rated for direct burial, or is installed inside of a conduit, it should be fine for several years, if not decades.

In all honesty, it would be highly possible for users to have a setting in the Status Meter to select for password protecting token purchases, thus making it impossible to purchase via the status meter without inputting the password. As for buying from the CCS, a similar approach could be taken requiring the last four digits of the customers Debit/Credit card that is on file... Or best yet, just have an Opt-Out on the system to restrict token purchases entirely.

Simple answer... No. Long answer... If you wish to block ordering tokens, you will need to place a block in your router on the websites you can order tokens from. Best answer... Get rid of his computer time if he purchases them?
