I don't like the wording in that, what so ever...  Depending on the price increase, it may cause a lot to jump ship.   Infrastructure costs have surely gone up...  Though, it seems this is a change of contract, hence the 30 day notice they are stating... This means even newly registered users can freely jump ship with no ETF...   What throws me for a loop is, I am on a VERY old plan, a 5GB Gen4 Choice plan, so is there going to be a 7.5GB plan, that's only $5 more? Or am I going to be seeing a $20 or $30 increase?   I can afford $5... Maybe $10...  But if this bumps me to the next plan tier entirely, then I might actually have to abandon ship regardless of my status...  Food is hard enough to afford right now 😕 ... View more

Just going to throw this out there... Hughesnet does have data caps, and there is congestion on the network.  Wireless ISP's have the same problem as well, though, not nearly as badly as a satellite ISP.  After looking at GotW3, it appears, they have some interesting disclaimers and policies.  They don't list what will actually trigger their FAP, but it does exist, and they do traffic shaping as well, and admit to it, at the least. https://www.gotw3.com/fair-use-policy https://www.gotw3.com/what-is-throttling The way it looks, depending on which carrier you actually get thrown on, and how often you stream, or game, or anything, really, will decide how it works. Let us know how it does work out for you over the course of time!  I was/am looking at a secondary ISP, mostly for gaming, but GOTW3 basically says "nope, you aren't allowed to do that on "our" network".  It might work great for a few days, then go to entirely useless after that till the next billing period.  Benefit is, no contract, downside is huge initial cost, and monthly fee of $100 for "rural". As far as the service, yes, a truck roll is $125, however, I am rather positive that they have a labor warranty...  Red flags should be going up on the installer/technician that was last out, and a different one sent to inspect/audit the previous work without charges to you. Things you should look into and check... 1 - signal strength at both the chromecast and iphone 2 - What and how are you casting to the Chromecast?  Using a special app?  A media player on your phone? Chrome on your phone? 3 - Is the phone, and chromecast on the same wifi network? 4 - Is the filetypes supported by your phone?  Do they play fine on there? 5 - Is the app you using, possibly trying to direct stream to Chromecast?  If so, is the file type properly supported, and at the right resolution for your Chromecast? ... If you are trying to find the WAN side Static IP for your terminal, you can browse to http://www.systemcontrolcenter.com/#!/home/information when connected to the terminal, and see a field for the IPv4 address.  That will be the address that outside connections need to connect to, to get into your LAN. Vacuum is a great idea, till you realize that the hose is plastic, and even clean air traveling at a high speed can generate static, then zap goes a $750 graphics card when the wand is a little too close. Outside dusting = good enough, crevices don't really matter much, it's the overall airflow.  If there's a tight spot, use a small brush to help lift the dust, then blast it with canned air   ... Hrm, didn't really do any winter cleaning, though, early spring cleaning and upgrading I suppose?  Decided I would go custom water cooling again, repurposed a few 10+ year old parts, tried my hand at painting and failed horribly.  The idea was to go for a bit of a resident evil theme, but meh.  But, I did get it pretty clean, the amount of clorox wipes I went through to get all that tar filled dust off everything...   ...
