The Hughesnet modem should have an on/off switch To what end ? You can disconnect by simply unplugging the Ethernet cable from the modems LAN port. Whenever the modem is powered off it will dump most of the stored diagnostic data that can be very helpful when troubleshooting performance or service issues.

It is nothing but desert over there coyotes and tumbleweeds. For the most part flat land and not much rain until thunderstorm season. Not to mention the worlds largest Beef Steak if you can eat it all it is free.
