Re: Has Anyone Downloaded and Installed the Creators Update?
I did the Creators Update on a new Dell Inspiron AIO and upgraded to Gen 5 on the same day (4-14). I didn't have a choice..the Gen 5 install was already scheduled and the Creators Update came up that morning and downloaded and did it's thing in a couple hours. Everything went perfect will both installs...no problems at all. Only problems I've found was that I can't cast from from edge browser any more even though the option is still there and will still cast from file explorer though.12KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Help! Being told 2 different things from CSR and need more info to make best choice.
Thanks Corrosive..y'alls info on here has helped a lot. However..my choice in routers isn't based on performance issues (more into security and function) as I'm working within a 15' area and it has a good network traffic feature and UI (along with Fing and Glasswire covers my tech knowledge level). It is based on the fact that I built a network around a Synology router as a media serve (7.1 Home Theather inside and 26 speakers outside pushing 2600 watts to them) and a Synology NAS system. All of this has been done in the last few months. To change routers now..just doesn't work for me. I do like the way the HT2000w will work with both birds and it will give me a back up WiFi device if needed and more RAM is always good.970Views0likes0CommentsHelp! Being told 2 different things from CSR and need more info to make best choice.
Hello all..I'm a lakebum. Currently a Gen 4 customer with HT1100 modem and getting ready to upgrade to the new Gen 5. I've made a couple of call to CS seeking info on the options available. 1st told that I could buy (not into leasing) the new modem for $200 and that I would be able to diable wifi as I wish to use my router..with free dish re-alignment. 2nd time I call was told the new modem and dish re-aligment would cost $326 (reg.$426 -$100 discount for already being a customer) and that I couldn't disable wifi. Was also told that I could keep using my HT1100 modem (starting April 1st) if I wish and would just need to have my dish re-aligned. My questions are... Does any one know the pricing of new modem and dish re-alignment? Will my HT1100 modem work with Gen 5? If my current modem will work with Gen5..other than the wifi feature..is there any other benfits to switch to the new modem? Can wifi be disabled on the new modem being offered? (I read the user manual and think it can be turned off but they said no) Thanks and any help would be appreciatedSolved1.2KViews0likes5Comments
