Moved into my mom's home when she passed in 2019 and just used the Hughesnet already installed. Had a reinstallation in 2024, under my name and everything has been fine since then. Except for the past couple of months. All the lights on the router fade out and a strange ringing noise comes from the router for anywhere from 10 seconds to a full two or three minutes. In some cases the router comes back on but in a lot of cases, I have to unplug cords and hope for the best. I've spoken with customer support two or three times and they keep telling me everything looks good on their end and that it's just a typical daily reset by the router but I'm wondering if they're not seeing something as the problem persists. This is literally my first post on here and not sure to request a moderator step in and look at things or what the best plan would be. For the most part, I've been very happy with Hughesnet over the past seven years and would hate to switch to Viasat, Vyve or Osage Broadband.25Views0likes2CommentsLAN light
My service was disconnected on Thursday and I got it reconnected on friday. Its Tuesday now and I haven't been able to use my wifi longer than 10 minutes since Wednesday before it was disconnected. I've talked to multiple tech supports who basically told me they couldn't do nothing about it but it will work for 10 minutes max with all lights showing , then drop to the LAN light only and im not able to use wifi . My kids are home schooled and I need help ASAP .74Views0likes2CommentsWifi connection keeps dropping
After nine years of trouble-free Hughesnet service, we upgraded four days ago so that we could receive "Elite" service. It's been nothing but trouble since then. Wifi goes out repeatedly during the day. I've spent hours on the phone every day since the installation with Hughesnet agents who talk me through various different steps to regain a connection. Each time, the wifi connection lasts for a little while before dropping again. I am beyond frustrated with the lack of a lasting solution to this terribly unreliable service. Is there anything I can do besides switching to Starlink?146Views0likes5CommentsWe had a Thunderstorm in White Cloud yesterday.
We had a Thunderstorm in my city yesterday and my Wi-Fi isn't working anymore. It doesn't even have any lights on the router. It was unplugged and plugged back in. It did not help the issue. I use my Internet for my cable, computers, etc. I already pay to much for the crappy service as it is. It doesn't work most the time and it is slower than molasses. I NEED the Internet . What do I need to do?35Views0likes0CommentsOnce again connected without internet
We had a bad storm here last night and while for the worst of it our internet worked fine. Once the storm was over and only strong winds remained we lost our service. I have reset the modem multiple times with no luck. Sometimes the transmit light is also not on. Its everytime the clouds roll in or we have some wind, now we are stuck with connected without internet again. We are so frustrated and would just like to have this fixed. I can't afford another charge. After reaching out to customer support several times today with no response, I am ready to change providers. It is too ridiculous that Hughesnet doesn't have some sort of customer care representatives. I should not spend countless hours researching diy fix my internet and a million internet searches on how to get hughesnet to respond when their service doesn't work. They would be quick to respond if the bill wasn't paid.144Views0likes1CommentWiFi box
I got hugesnet recently when I moved into a rural area and I was really hoping I would love it. Within the first 2 days my modem would stop displaying any lights besides lan. I spoke with support around the time and they did troubleshooting nothing got fixed I finally reset it for about the 20th time and it worked. Fast forward 5-6 months later I have still had the issue persistently and I had not been recommended a new WiFi box. I want to note I work from home and have no cell phone service so I heavily rely on my WiFi. Come about 2 days ago my WiFi went out and I tried it all! Troubleshooting, rebooting, power cycling, everything. I finally was recommended to get a new WiFi box (should’ve happen from the start mine was used and shows obvious signs of being previously used/damaged). Come to find out unless I want to wait 7-10 business days it would be a 25$ shipping fee for 2 day shipping which is still ridiculous. I asked if a technician could come out as I HEAVILY rely on my WiFi and was told it would be a 150$ fee. So long story short I have been without WiFi for days and am unable to complete my jobs assignments. I assume I will wait on the new box as I have no other option but I am highly disappointed. Has anyone else gone through this?44Views0likes0CommentsHughesnet internet modem
