Hello, for 2 days now I have No Dial tone just busy signal no green phone light on my MTA8328 -1E . I have turned power off for over 5 minutes and then powered everything back on so far that is NOT working. Any ideas why this may be happening and how it can be resolved ?

Hi Liz, It appears everything is seated snug.The phone I have had since November 2020.The problem started yesterday,we had an electrical outage (unknown cause,perhaps due to windy conditions yesterday and weak trees after Febuary ice storm) Anyway when electric was restored my phone rang and everything was fine however within less than 5 minutes after that telemarket call my husband called me on his lunch break it rang but the phone seemed dead when I tried to answer and he ended up a little worried because he knew I should be home lol and I was home but my phone was dead,no dial tone nothing when I answered. The lights on my ATA are green, the 1st light (not sure what that light is) and the 2nd light which has a phone symbol is lit green but it is steadily blinking on and off ?? The 3rd light wish has a globe symbol is lit green, So 3 lights on and phone symbol light blinks also to mention the yellow cord plugged into back of modem wi-fi tower has a green light at top and orange light at bottom.

I have a cordless handset which is fairly new so I'm not sure if this is a problem with my phone or my VOIP service.My phone rings incoming calls and callers can even leave messages on my phones answering machine. When someone calls and my phone rings nothing shows up on the caller ID and when I answer it my phone seems is dead, no dail tone no sound at all. I can however click the hanset caller ID after the caller hangs up and see the number of the person who just called me. The lights are as the should be (I think) on my MTA 8328-1N device. Should I go buy a new phone or could this be something VOIP related ?? Thanks for your advice & support.

I thought my problems were over last week because it appeared everything was up and running and all lights were as they should be on new ATT and it was activated and I have been making phone calls last week-BUT- Last night my family started calling on my husband's work phone to inform us that "Our number is no longer in service" And come to think of it..The last time I got an incoming phone call was 05/11/2020...So no one can call our home,I guess 😞

Thanks GabeU, I'm just trying to figure out whats going on and hoping Liz gives me some sort of update soon.It just makes no sense to me that I was sent a brand new ATA with all new hook ups and my LAN line is still not lighting nor operating at all 😞

Hello Liz, The new ATA was delivered today it is a MTA8328 - I followed all instalation instructions and all lights except the phone symbol are lit.I have no dial tone and only a busy signal and now cannot dial out on the phone.Do I need to register it or activate it or something?? Thanks,Sharon

Thank You Liz, And yes I did have an extra yellow cable and I tried that and still no LAN light.I guess it could remotely be possible that both cables are having issues,but I doubt that.I can go to nearest Wal-Mart and buy a totally brand new one but not sure if that will help or not.

I cannot receive any incoming phone calls.The last time I had an incoming phone call was on 05/11/2020 - I have a dail tone and CAN make phone calls out.I searched the community board on my subject and found and old thread discussion with a customer who was having the same issue as I am.I followed ALL the trouble shooting suggestions on that thread as the technition advised and nothing worked.When my husband calls me from his work he tells me when he gets home from work that everytime he trys to call he gets message that my number is no longer in service.When my daughter who is at home with me calls my phone number from her smart phone she however gets no message and told me that the call won't even go thru.All my lights on the ATA are the colors they should be EXCEPT the LAN which has no lit light at all.What is going on with my VOIP phone service please??
