Happy Thanksgiving everyone! What was on your menu and how did it go?
Hi all! Happy turkey day! What was on your menu, or what did you bring? How did it all turn out? How did the day go? This year I'm hosting and cooking for a total of seven: me, daughter Joy, the neighbor lady and her mom, two of Joy's friends, and our contractor, lol. Pre-dinner munchies include: chips & dip, veggie/relish tray, cheese & cracker tray, sugar free jello. Neighbor Rosetta is doing this part. Joy's making deviled eggs. I may add a fruit bpwl--apples, bananas, oranges. Drinks: sugar free lemonade, sugar free sparkling punch, diet soda, water, coffee. Dinner cooked by yours truly unless otherwise indicated: 15 lb. turkey, cornbread stuffing (in the bird), mashed potatoes, gravy, corn on the cob, biscuits, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes (Rosetta), green bean casserole (Joy), Brussels sprouts (Joy), fruit salad (Rosetta). Everything made from scratch, except the biscuits, which will be made from a mix. Sparkling cider will be added to the drink options. Dessert: I baked four pies: pecan, apple, key lime, and sweet potato pie with a carmelized pecan topping and maple whipped cream. This is a brand new recipe I made up myself, so I'm holding my breath, haha! It looks great so far!! Home made whipped cream for all. Rosetta's home made eggnog added to the drink options. Leftovers will be packed up for everyone to take home. I use dollar store containers and ziplock baggies so no one has to worry about returning dishes. :-) Joy is in charge of the TV schedule. She has informed me it will be: Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, AKC Championship dog show, football, football, football. ;-) I'm really excited and looking forward to a great day! I hope you are too! :-)4.7KViews0likes5Comments[WIN7] Attention to Telemetry updates 'preview' for Win 7 / 8.1

Three of them -- KB 3192403 for Windows 7, KB 3192404 for Windows 8.1, and KB 3192406 for Windows Server 2012 -- confirm a trend we've long expected: Microsoft is adding new telemetry/snooping capabilities to Win7, 8.1, and Server 2012 by growing out its Diagnostic and Telemetry service subsystem, DiagTrack. The big push will come in November" Woody @ Infoworld gives a good rundown on it. The article is well worth the read.6.6KViews0likes10CommentsHere's an Idea for Upper Management
Hiring more *official reps* would be more beneficial for this forum--at least 3 more active reps would suffice..I feel that customers that post here would have an easier and quicker time with getting their problems/concerns resolved instead of being bombarded with arrogance and rudeness by those who act as if they're gatekeepers/cheerleaders/tapdancers for Hughesnet and I'm pretty sure you've noticed..If this forum is suppose to be a friendly, enjoyable and helpful environment as stated in the community guidelines--more than half the time it's missing the mark--imo.7.6KViews0likes13CommentsHughesNet Survey 'Reward' Offer
For the second time in a couple or so weeks, I've had a HughesNet User survey pop up. The popup pro mises me a reward offer. The first time I took the survey to provide feedback and I was curious abo8ut the reward offer. What a disappointment!! The survey consists mostly out of generic questions with yes, no, maybe, n/a answer options and no way to leave some actual feedback. The 'Reward' consists of a choice of several products valued between $80 and $110 (Anti-aging System, Garinia Weight Loss Kit, E-Cig Kit, Hair Growth Product) Muscle Builder, Teeth Whitening System, and Wrinkle Cream) and all you have to do is pay between 4 and $7 for shipping. HOWEVER, if you actually look at the fineprint, it says if you do not return/cancel the order withing 14 days, you are then signed up for autoship and you will be charged whatever your product costs on a monthly bases. HughesNet, what kind of a reward is that and how many people who don't read the fineprint get taken to the cleaners??? WHY??? I hope me posting this here saves someone from falling into this trap.9.6KViews1like13CommentsIs Google Chrome secure enough?
An off topic question, but do you think Google Chrome is secure enough? I have been using IE for years, and I, like others, am starting to seemore articles and such of how IE is basically falling behind...considerably. I have Chrome on here, and it's up to date, but I am somewhat apprehensive in using it to do things like online shopping. What do you think? I don't have Firefox. I tried it a few years back and did not like it at all. But, with regard to that, how is Firefox with security? What would YOUchoose to do sensitivethings like shopping and paying bills and such? Thanks for the help.15KViews0likes40Comments
