Hazardous Expectations
Hi, thank you for the clarification.
I understand that the satellite radio must be returned and that there is a charge if it is not. However, the radio is mounted on the roof as part of the installed equipment, which I cannot safely access or remove.
The agreement requires return of equipment but does not address situations where that equipment is installed in a hazardous or inaccessible location. It also does not state that I am required to perform roof work or pay for a technician to safely remove it, nor does it disclose any cost associated with technician removal.
At this point, I am being told I must either risk my safety to remove roof-mounted equipment or be charged $200 for not returning it, or pay $100 for a technician service that is not outlined in the agreement. That is not a reasonable or safe expectation.
If HughesNet requires the radio to be returned, then a safe removal option should be provided at no cost. Otherwise, I request written confirmation that I will not be charged for equipment that cannot be safely removed.
TwitchyPlacebo , you’re in good hands now that one of the HughesNet reps posted a reply to you. I hope everything gets resolved quickly and to your satisfaction.
