Terrible wifi
This is the WORST internet provider I have ever had. It is out more often than working. It is extremely slow. It takes me 5 minutes just to load my emails. I have no service at my house and rely on my internet for communication and it is extremely disappointing. Idk if everyone can see this or just current customers but if you havnt switched to Hughes net yet DONT. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DONT. #disapointing

When I signed up just short of 2 years ago. I was with the understanding there was no contract. I could cancel anytime. I also was told that all I had to pay today was first months payment. So i authorize that first months payment only. Asked several times if I was going to be charged installation charges they said no, I confirmed only first month would be the only charge. Got my credit card statement and not only did they take out 1st months bill, they charged me the installation charge to. I called them back they investigated and gave me a 3 month credit on my bill to make up for the charge. Admitting to the confusion. I went with that. Called and canceled today 1/7/26. 4 months from 2 years of service to only be told I would have to pay early cancelation fee of 130.00. A charge for a contract to my understanding didnt exist on my account, that was supposed to not even exist.. they refuse to waive the fee and when I explained that to them and explained the research on the installation fee. They still refused to waive it.. the guy didnt even want to hear it.. so be careful because they lie to you to pull you in and then dont honor what they agreed to..they are crooked.
Very dissatisfied
I have been a Hughes Net customer for 2 yrs. I pay on time and never miss. I came into a financial change in my life and reached out to Hughes Net for disconnection. I was told that I had to pay a $340.00 fee to disconnect (even though I have been a member for 2 yrs, honored my contract) Of course I was given the choice to suspend account, or a discount on services (I get it, they have a job to do as well). I kindly explained that again, my financial situation has changed and I needed to reconstruct my spending. I pleaded with them, I asked if they could forgive half of the disconnection fee. Long story short, I had to pay the $342.49 or continue to pay the monthly fee for the next 18 months (again, what part of the plea did they not understand about a financial change in my life) I kindly apologized for my mishap in life and paid the disconnection fee (I did not want to have to worry in 6 mos, 18 mos, whatever to remember to cancel service, I have enough to worry about at this time. I have never been made to feel so used. I would not recommend this service. So sad that a multi million dollar business can not at least forgive half. So sad.Terrible service and lied about the gift card.
Not only is this the worst service I have ever had, but the whole $200.00 gift card is a scam as well. You have to go to a specific site and apply for what they promised you. Upload your 1st 2 invoices, only to be denied. Then you are told you have to call. The person I spoke with was VERY rude and arrogant. He told me I did not fill out the request for the promotion within the specific time frame? WHAT TIME FRAME? I AM STILL A CUSTOMER PAYING FOR THE SERVICE!!! Bottom line is, it's 100% BS. An outright lie to get customers. I can't wait until my area gets another option!!!
Not working
Hello all, so last month I couldn't get wifi to work, thought oops forgot to pay the bill. Well I didn't. It said I had went over on GB and could buy a token. I had 4 days so nah. Got busy with life and it never worked the payment for this month was paid but till today I couldn't get WiFi couldn't get into my account nothing. So I emailed asking for the past few weeks get credit since I was unable to use and it shows on the account. I read many stated the same issue I have been having
Poor customer service
The speed of internet is slow so I called customer service to increase speed. The new price is much higher than Xfinity. Then I asked when will my contract expire. I was told after 1 year. So I went back to Xfinity. Now they are telling me about a $220 charge for breaking contract. Hughnet is penalizing me for their customer mistake? Its an unfair practice and absolutely horrific customer service. Do not join Hughnet...speed and custo.er service are extremely poor!
