Very dissatisfied
I have been a Hughes Net customer for 2 yrs. I pay on time and never miss. I came into a financial change in my life and reached out to Hughes Net for disconnection. I was told that I had to pay a $340.00 fee to disconnect (even though I have been a member for 2 yrs, honored my contract) Of course I was given the choice to suspend account, or a discount on services (I get it, they have a job to do as well). I kindly explained that again, my financial situation has changed and I needed to reconstruct my spending. I pleaded with them, I asked if they could forgive half of the disconnection fee. Long story short, I had to pay the $342.49 or continue to pay the monthly fee for the next 18 months (again, what part of the plea did they not understand about a financial change in my life) I kindly apologized for my mishap in life and paid the disconnection fee (I did not want to have to worry in 6 mos, 18 mos, whatever to remember to cancel service, I have enough to worry about at this time. I have never been made to feel so used.
I would not recommend this service. So sad that a multi million dollar business can not at least forgive half. So sad.

I suggest you explain your situation under myAccount and Billing | Hughesnet Community.
The HN reps on this site may be able to offer some help, and will likely look into your situation and contact you privately about it. No guarantees (I'm a subscriber too), but it might be worth a try.

I've had the same issue. They catch you with terminology! I called in May to cancel and they said my contract will be suspended until Nov 27th ,then I could call and terminate my services. I call today and now they say I still have contract obligations and I will be charged $280 ! I'm so frustrated and confused ! I have been with them since 2020. This is why I'm canceling! Contract **bleep** that never ends and never in the customers best interest. I live on social security and in our world today, I can't stop the greed and the swamp of tangled terminology! Maybe Ai will be more of a human, then the customer service representatives that answer the phones now !
