A bit confused on the data usage and a mailer I just got today.

I just recieved a mailer from Hughes Net and it says:   "All plans have No Hard Data Limits. If you exceed the amount of data in your plan, we won't cut you off or charge you more."   Ummm. . . ....

    You will be throttled to a lower speed once you exceed plan limit. All wireless carriers, except maybe WISP, do this as far as I know. This article/review answers many questions people have about satellite internet: https://www.reviews.com/satellite-internet/hughesnet/

     

    PS: Since I don't have the mailer in front of me so I can't answer to that, however there is usually fine print somewhere about the reduced speed. And if they opened up full speed 24/7 for everyone, no monthly limits on amount at full speed, everything would pretty much grind to a complete halt.
