Why can I hear a caller on my magicjack plus but they cannot hear me?

Those devices don't work well with satellite internet due to the inherent latency (the latency is a result of the laws of physics, so it can't be helped).  Hughesnet offers their own VOIP service, designed to work with Hughesnet (though some users have reported issues too):  https://www.hughesnet.com/get-started/hughesnet-voice
