They were also not able to get that modem to register, so they scheduled a tech visit. In the meantime, I packaged and returned my original bad modem. The tech arrived and was also not able to get the replacement modem to register. He had to get a new modem off of his truck and register it to get me back up and running. He then took the replacement modem with him. Now I'm receiving emails that I am going to be charged $125 for not returning the original bad modem, even though I sent it back on September 10th. I dropped it of at ups on Atlantic Ave. In Raleigh, NC. Could someone please help me figure out why that return has not been credited? SolvedHT2000 W won't boot. My modem just sits with only a power light on. I've power cycled several times. Leaving it disconnected for a few minutes. But then it flashes all front panel lights once, then just sits with only a power light on. Never even flashes the receive or network lights. This began when I power cycled the modem due to extreamly slow speeds (below 1mbps). Modem never rebooted properly. No changes to the dish position to the best I can tell. Please advise. SolvedHow do I cancel voice service? I have ported my number back to my LEC and now I need to remove voice service from my account. I can't find any way to do it myself on the support site. I only want to cancel voice, I'm keeping internet service. SolvedRe: Should I enable or disable the firewall if I'm using an external router? That's pretty much what I thought. I try to avoid hackers in my house, so I'm leaving it off! 🙂 Should I enable or disable the firewall if I'm using an external router? Should I leave the firwall enabled or disable it if I have wifi off and only using an external router with a firewall? Generally, I would disable it if I'm using the another modem device like a DSL with an external firewall to avoid double NAT. But, since there is no bridge mode and the router is basically always in play on the ht2000w, should I just leave it enabled? Plus as I understand the ht2000w is always translating ipv4 addresses because the Hughes side of the gateway is only ipv6. What are your thoughts and or advice? SolvedRe: No internet/Can't access www.systemcontrolcenter.com I received and setup the new ht2000w. This fixed the issue! I'm not making any changes to it other than turning off the wifi and the firewall. And I have questions about the firewall, but that will be another topic. Thanks again! Re: No internet/Can't access www.systemcontrolcenter.com Thank you so much! I hope that will resolve too. I will report back to this post. Thanks again!
