Some people don't have any other choice but satellite internet. For those people, satellite internet is very good. Additionally, many people have no problems with the system at all. If you have issues with the technology, you may want to get help by posting under Tech Support. Satellite technology is very different from land cable and cannot and should not be compared. They are not in competition because they are different technologies. Fees for terminating a contract early are standard with all ISPs -- you'd have the same issue with Xfinity, Verizon Wireless, etc. What do you teach?

Hm, I actually think this site has improved communication quite a bit. What bothers you about it? Customer-to-customer help sites are common with ISPs. Verizon Wireless, Xfinity, Exede, and others, all have the same type of sites.

If you would like your concerns addressed on this community, please post those concerns to the MyAccount and Billing section. This section where you have posted is not for Hughesnet support, and the Hughesnet employees may not see or address your post. I am a Hughesnet customer, not an employee. This is a customer-to-customer support site, and Hughesnet employees intervene only when we customers can't help. Your issue will be more visible and addressed sooner if you post it to the right section. @SEASHELLER1956 wrote: I am not arguing whether it is a contract or not. It's not a ripoff, a joke, or a fraud. It's a legal contract. The contract is for 2 years. When you cancel before the 2 years, you pay a fine. This happens with all internet service providers, not just Hughesnet. So even if people don't get Hughesnet and go with someone else (Verizon Wireless, Excede, etc.), the same thing will happen if they cancel their contract before the service term is over.

It's not a rule. You can ask the system to send you a reminder that the monthly bill is coming. It can remind you 1, 5, or 10 days before it happens.

True, most people won't eat the artisan chicken with the apple slices. 🙂 From what I've been reading about the documentary, it seems to me it's a kind of "what if?" (What would happen if people ate like this every day of their lives? The answer is not pretty). In any case, it does have merit.

Glad you fixed the avatar issue, Gabe! As for Supersize Me, it sounds very interesting. I wonder, though, about his rules (I read about the list of rules he had about what he would eat) and whether the rules skewed the outcome. What if I eat at McD's every day but choose salad and fruit and grilled artisan chicken? Surely it'd be less bad than eating Big Macs all the time. Edit: This guy lost weight with McD's.

A co-worker said McD's has a new salad now, too. Southwestern?? I can see all avatars.... did they come back for you? Well, I had someone pick up a couple for me, and I had one of those "buy one get one free" codes from taking part in a survey listed on a McDonalds receipt I got last week. I'll get something to drink from there once in a while as I like their frappés. With the bogo coupon it was a litlte over $4. So, not too bad for two burgers. I only ate one and will probably eat the other one later. The patties are actually thicker. I suppose it's because of the fresh vs frozen deal, but I think they actually use different beef, as well. It didn't have that "McDonalds taste" to it, or that taste that everything from McDonalds has, if you know what I mean. If someone had given me one and I didn't know where it was from I would have never guessed it was McDonalds, whereas with everything else from there you know it two seconds. BTW, is it just me, or is my avatar not showing for you, either? It seems I'm the lucky one this time around. LOL.

NYC pizza is excellent, imo.
