After 15 years, I will be leaving HughesNet at the end of April. I want to say THANK YOU to Liz who has been relentless in resolving issues with the various HN systems I've had over those years...starting with my first HN9000. I don't want to forget to thank those HN customers who have volunteered with helpful advise. I wish you all the best!

I am on the Gen5 50GB plan, but today (July 1st) when the usage status would usually show I am starting the month with 50GB's, it now shows my plan is 45GB. Why was my plan changed or is this an error?

When investigating my slow web speed, I found that Web Acceleration (WA) is "Not Supported" on my Gen5 system. I have reverted to using my cell phone to connect to the web. I checked the WA settings and found it is set to enabled. There is apparently nothing more I can do on my end and will need to have HN reset my WA to "Supported".

This morning I noticed that my tokens disappeared (can't remember how many I had). My available remaining service plan data increased to nearly 100% of my monthly service plan allocation. Note, I did NOT initiate "cashing in" my tokens. I'm not sure what caused this issue. HughesNet...Please review and reinstate my tokens. Thanks.

A month ago, Remy ordered a reduction in my monthly charge because of issues I am experiencing with my Gen 5 system. I use automatice payment and my credit card was charged the usual amount instead of the reduced amount. Please make the appropiate adjustment to future charges and apply a credit for this month's overcharge. I am including a snapshot of the post from the support pages:

I am on Gen 5 and am experiencing a State Code 30.1.1 (Web Acceleration in backoff state). I have good signal strength at 111, removed any snow from the dish and rebooted the modem. System status page shows Web Acceleration is "Down". Can I assume this is being addressed? IP Gateway: IPGW - J2NOR081HNSIGW1305 At this point, I do not useable WiFi.

I am starting a new thread relative to the thread started by Gabe so as not to continue posting my performance issues on his thread. Moving forward from my previous posts on Gabe's thread and as promised to Gabe, I am starting my own post with respect to degraded performance speeds on my Gen 5 system. I have posted supporting information on Gabe's thread. I have run speed tests useing the HughesNet procedures for a 22 hour period which demonstrates the variation in speeds. This situation has made it impossible to download Apple iOS updates and may reflect problems encountered with the pathway to/from Apples download servers. Other have noted the same problem with the Microsoft download servers. Working backward in time (see my test stats for the testing results over a 22 hour period). For example, at Gabe's request, I ran tests around the 2 a.m. timeframe, but the tests would not complete, i.e. the downloads stopped. I got the initial download "burst" and then the download attempts would just stop. They would usually stop anywhere between 25% to 55% before stopping. I was finally able to run tests starting at 2:28 a.m. and another at 2:36 a.m. before heading back to bed. Speeds had degraded significantly and often ended when the system just stopped. My last test was at 7 a.m. that day with further degradation of speed. Essentially, downloads are impossible to accomplish. Note again, all tests were run while connected directly to the HN router (I'm on Gen 5) and with strong signal strength....WiFi was turned off. Since there have been others posting similar complaints, I believe the problems are systemic with HughesNet. I stopped using iCloud long ago except for those times I need to update profile info. My son worked for Apple at Cupertino and advised that iCloud didn't play "nice" with satellite ISP's and it is generally unreliable for backups. I use Time Machine for my macOS machines and iTunes for my iPhone backups.

I don't mean to highjack the thread, but wanted to let you (both Gabe and Liz) know that I have been experiencing the same issues relative to those issues presented by Gabe. I am using a current MacBook Pro running macOS 10.14.6. Because Apple has a different speed threshold for downloading from their servers, downloads will most often stop before finishing as the HughesNet speeds reduce. Anyway....I just wanted to let you know that Mac users are having the same impacts. I will post a separate concern after running speed test. Again...I apologize for the intrusion on your thread.

The 14.1.3 normally indicates a device is connecting and disconnecting often. Do you have any other devices outside of the computer? A phone, TV, or any smart devices? On Monday. I lost internet and power cycled my Gen5 modem. After long period to re-cycle, a program update eventually was "triggered" and during the update there was a state code"14.1.3 -- A device connectivity issue is detected". That code keeps popping up, but it apparently has not taken the internet back down. I was up and running until today. Now this morning, I had another sudden "net down" this morning. Within about an hour my state code switched from 0.0.0 to 12.7.1 (transmit problem) and 30.1.1 (web acceleration in back off state) and that kept repeating. Eventually, web acceleration went down for a period. In the midst of all that, another software download was triggered (had another software download Monday). Note, I checked all cables inside and outside (including at the radio and the ground)...all connections appeared fine. This afternoon, I intermitently get state code 14.1.3 but the only device connected is my laptop which passes on hardware diagnostics. Not sure if HugesNet had maintenance or other system issues this morning which would cause any part of this problem? Also, there are no weather issues to report in my part of Tennessee. At the moment my state code is 0.0.0. Any HughesNet activity that may have caused this issue?
