Data usage goes like wildfire

Told to unplug and call back in 3 hours. Did and was told test no good must plug it and redo test. NO. Been through it twice. I came from dish with high hopes and seems to be big diappointment. I had 10gb with them 2 years and didn't use data this fast. I'm using same stuff. 2 phones. Yes I keep things turned off when not in use and don't auto play videos when do use facebook. 10 gb gone this month in 3 days. Frustrating to say least.Solved8.8KViews2likes15CommentsData usage with IPads
Hi folks, Can anyone give me some insight into how much data IPads use over WiFi, in general, compared to a PC? This is with no video or audio streaming. More, less, about the same? Is there a way to tell how much data an IPad is using over WiFi? I have not found this in Settings, and the HughesNet data usage tool does not differentiate PC/IPad use. Also, does anyone know how to turn off auto-play ads/audio/videos in IPad? I know how on PC, but can't figure it out on the IPad. So after we moved (not able to use it at the apartment complex) and were told the early termination fee could not be waived under any circumstances we are stuck with a $70 contract for another year and a half. NOW I CHECKED FOR MY BILL AND SEE THAT MY DATA IS USED WHILE NO EQUIPMENT IS INSTALLED PERIOD! No satellite is set up, no box installed nothing! This is unbelievable and I am in disbelief to be honest. This is by far the most terrible and customer unfriendly company I have ever dealt with. No understanding, no flexibility or help with customers life situations what so ever! I would never recommend this company to anyone ever. I would like to know if anyone else experiences unexplained data usage?4.7KViews2likes8Comments1st month great, 2nd not so much.
So February was our first month with HN & it went fairly well. We only got the gen5 10g plan... for movies & my son's daily tech time on his phone. We ran out 3 days early but were ok with that. Our renew date is the 4th of the month. Well.... Please tell me how, when NOTHING has changed, but we ran out of data in 3 DAYS! Yep, 3 days. From March 4 to March 7 we somehow used all 10g of data. And didn't watch but 2 movies. I called HN & talked to them, very nice, she gave us 2 tokens and in a few hours, .4 of those were gone. I had already made sure nothing but the TV & hopper were connected. Now before all the questions, I kept data saver on, I blocked guest accounts as soon as service was installed, limited time on WiFi...it makes no sense. Its as if HN allowed us to use all we wanted the first month to make it look good. As a matter of fact, in the usage chart it shows we could use 10g A DAY (instead of 10g for the month) in February until March 1. I guess I'm reading it right, I mean its not that hard to understand. Any ideas on how this could happen from 1 month to the next?3.8KViews1like2CommentsWhere have my little gigs gone?
Since switching to the Fusion service I am burning through data. When checking the usage it shows 1) My devices have been connected for 1722 days each but I've only had service since the end of October and regularly disconnect my devices. 2) It shows that they've hardly used any data. So far this month I've burned through my 100GB and almost all of my Bonus Zone. I live alone, don't game and only stream TV in the evenings. I do work from home but my primary program being used is PC based and uses very little data. I have my account set on Data Saver, I have my laptops set on a metered connection, I have my FireStick set on the lowest data usage and resolution settings. Since Tuesday I've somehow gone through almost 20GB of my data tokens and have only been able to watch TV for about 2 hours because the connection has been so slow that I can't stream anything. Prior to switching to the Fusion plan I was using MAYBE 30GB of data in an entire month. Now I somehow use that in a couple of days. When I called in for help a month or so ago the rep and I watched my data tokens drop by 2GB in less than 5 minutes but nobody knows how this is happening. I thought maybe it was just me but now that I've read through these threads I see that lots of people are losing data. Can someone help fix this problem?2.4KViews0likes2CommentsData Charged while sleeping!
Yesterday, 2 weeks into my monthly plan, which I DOUBLED! a week ago, I was shocked to find out I was out of Data! I thought, WOW! what am I doing to use 20G of data in 2 weeks! I purchased 10G Token yesterday, and downloaded Glasswire to find out what the **bleep** is going on! At 10pm after using my web browser for a small amount of time to check email on AOL, and put Glasswire on my wifes computer to monitor her network usage, My Token was at 9.5G left. I woke up at 3:30 am to find out that MY 9.5G OF DATA IS GONE! AND I HAD USED 3G OF MY BONUS DATA WHILE I WAS SLEEPING!!!!!. I checked my Glasswire network monitor and in the last 24 hours BOTH mine and my wife's computer have only used 337Mb of data! WHILE I WAS SLEEPING! Customer service needs to respond to this issue, return my Data token and re-instate my 20G of Anytime data. I look at this as a technical issue, and most likely as in past posts I have read, the issue is they are charging me from the wrong data pool. Please fix!2.2KViews0likes1CommentHow can I see daily usage by device?
How can I see daily usage by device? HughesNet customers with a HT2000W modem can view device-level usage for 24 hour and previous 14 day periods on the ‘Connected Devices’ page found on myHughesNet.com under the ‘Usage’ category. First locate the “SEE ALL CONNECTED DEVICES” button on the bottom of the page. The following page displays the devices connected to your HughesNet system along with other helpful information such as, “Status, Signal Quality, Connection time, and 24 hour usage”. For further device-level information and to change the data usage period from 24 hours to last 14 days click on the “>” arrow next to the device on the expanded Network menu. It may take several minutes to load your data usage over the previous 14 day period.1KViews0likes0Comments
