iPhone connects to external router but does not get internet - nat or some setting issue???
My sister's old Belkin router died and she has tried to replace it with both an Asus and a Netgear router and has the same problem with both. We call tech support last night and they could not resolve her problem. She is on Gen4 using a Hughes Jupiter HT1100 which does NOT have builtin wifi, so she connects to an external wifi router for that. Her computer is cabled to the router. Her HP printer connects wirelessly to the router (both tried) and works, and iPhones connect to the router, but do not connect to the internet. The routers show the iPhones as attached devices, but the iPhones say "no internet connection, If this is your Wi-Fi network, try restarting the modem and the router, or contact your ISP." This has happened with an iPhone 9, 12 and 13 with current and most recent prior IOS software. She recalls much difficulty getting the old Belkin to work at first requiring calls to tech support, but she doesn't recall the details, and the Belkin died so we could not see how it was set up. We have searched Apple, Asus and Netgear forums and have not found the exact answer. Some similar problems with cable modems and routers have mentioned "double NAT" as a problem, and to use "bridge mode" but they were not clear answers. Has anyone come across or solved this?3.5KViews0likes4CommentsWifi extender
I ordered this extender. While it seemed to setup properly (The light sequences and comms from Extender to modem) the extender wiped out the configuration on the Modem/Router requiring onsite tech service to reconfigure. This was quite inconvenient as I live 200 miles north of Green Bay Wisconsin and it took almost 2 weeks to get a tech onsite.3.4KViews0likes1CommentModem still not working
So they sent me a replacement modem and it is still doing the same thing. I plug it in and the power light comes on, then the bottom 4 lights come on for a few seconds, then the bottom 4 lights go off and the power light stays on for about 30 seconds then all lights go off and it starts that process all over. There is no connection at all! The modem/router just keeps cycling through the lights. I have checked all visual cables and connections and nothing is chewed or disrupted. I have not had internet for about a month now. This is ridiculous, and I am not planning on paying $95 to have them come fix the problem. I would rather cancel my service!Solved7KViews0likes12CommentsHT2000W Router settings password reset
So when I first got the set-up i just had an ethernet wire to my smart TV and my laptop connected via WiFi. Today since some other memebers of the household asked to connect to internet I thought I would block some sites first. Upon entering my routers IP Address which I got from my PC through command promt and my iPhone through the settings, it takes me to a screen asking for a password. From what I’ve seen I should’ve been told to put the username first but that doesnt appear to be the case. I tried my routers WiFi password, just “password - Password”, and my password for my hughes account. None worked. I tried some sets I found here about restarting the router and pressing the reset button along with pressing the WPS button for 30 seconds. Is there anything else I can try?Solved10KViews0likes2Comments
