Intermittent slow internet speeds, HIGH variations, occasionally unusable
I have opened a case with HughesNet and they promptly closed it with a "Everything is fine at the moment" canned message. Called on lunch at work, got a person in India who read from a script, said the same thing, and apparently didn't know the meaning of "Intermittent." Said for me to gather data when it happens again. So it happened again, gathered data, used the email form... "ERROR 404" when I try to send. NOW the internet is sporadically getting better as the night goes on, my window seems to be closing. I was instructed by Sasha Matthews to use TestMy.Net, however I know that you on the forums here state it MIGHT not be the best test. Here are my tests, Regardless: TEST 1, Auto Test: :::.. END OF MESSAGE TEST: https://testmy.net/db/PVpOGBroY (Slow again, but not as bad) EDIT: Note: Tested the links, they show "Not found" but if you refresh the page, they show up fine. EDIT #2: Figured this is worth mention. Last Night (January 15th) the internet was barely usable. speedtest.net failed to work with "Latency Error!" showing up. using the legacy site, it took a while, but came up with a ping of ~2,000ms and speed of 0.2mbit and 0.05mbit upload. of COURSE I Didn't save it, like a dummy, but I hope all these tests of it just "Degraded" helps somewhat. I won't be able to even post this if it gets as bad as it was last night. EDIT #3: Checked speedtest.net history, last night doesn't show. Something was REALLY screwy, as it doesn't even recognize ME as the one who tested. However, I did run one on Friday, and it was acting up (Not unusable, but not good), so here is the link to that one: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/6958022710 That should show it does get REALLY crap, even with speedtest.net.Solved8.1KViews0likes8Commentscontrol center diagnostics
Is there a page that explains how to decipher the control center codes and information? I'm trying to understand why my internet service has been absolutely, terribly s l o w and using up data. My data allowence is more than half used, and was reset just a week ago! Whatever the dang problem is...it needs to be fixed, and shouldn't count against my allowence for poor service. I've tried to sort through the system information as well as this forum to resolve this issue, but have been unable to find "what to do if you have errors and red 'x' marks, etc...." What is 12.1.9 state code, for example?? And how much data is hughesnet taking away from me to ask that question?? Thanks for any assistance anyone can provide.Solved5.6KViews0likes4CommentsSlow Internet on browsing and video always buffering
Hello, Ever since we switched from WildBlue to HughsNet Gen5 (In September 2019) the HughsNet is painfuly slow to use. We're on HughsNet Gen5 50GB plan. We experiance slow speeds constantly. The speed tests below were done via network cable to the modem with Wifi Off. The current Service Plan Data shows 63% remaining and Bonus Zone shows 90% remaining. https://testmy.net/quickstats/Stingray327?type=user_name&q=Stingray327&limit=25&nextprev=1&submit=25 or https://testmy.net/quickstats/Stingray327 Given these speed tests if it were DSL I know there would be no issues in displaying webpages or streaming video. We are using the same devices in the house as when we were on WildBlue. Back on wildblue we were able to stream video without buffering and could connect to our Ring door bell remotely, and communicate live with the Ring door bell. Now on HughesNet we can't even get connected to the ring door bell remotely anymore. Trying to get to the bottom of what the slow issues are? This is seen on multiple different laptops, TVs with streaming apps and the ring doorbell. All of which were much faster on WildBlue. We know of other users at work on HughesNet without these issues. Looking for help on what could be the issue? Thanks!Solved2.3KViews0likes1Comment
