This service is so horrible , and they know it. 2 year binding contract because they know people will want a different service after 1 month it’s actually so sad. My “200 GB” are gone by the first week and it’s only me and my WiFi in the household and we both work… They’re so complacent and don’t want to upgrade there service because they know in rural areas no big name companies are there yet so they pay for cheap satellites and charge a premium to use it. 115 dollars for 200 priority GBs and then once those are done it’s like you don’t even have WiFi anymore unless you buy more. 100 latency while running a LAN cable like how is that even possible… DONT GET HUGHESNETS UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO.292Views1like5CommentsHughes net sucks
This is absolutely the worst Internet service since dial up.... literally. I told them I run an online business, they knew I have a disabled son who can't see so he listens to the TV shows he likes, buffering 20 mins out of a 30 min show. I'm disgusted with this service it's truly a waste of money. Amanda Amanda, what's going on with the "Undefined" posts? I first noticed them in AmandaB1234's thread at https://community.hughesnet.com/discussions/TechSupport/speed-issues-since-day-1/143475, and it happened to me today as well. I was able to edit my undefined post after switching browsers, which is why I don't have a screenshot. The glitch happened when I wanted to reply to a post. I hit "reply" and the reply box didn't open, and eventually it posted [by itself] with the word "undefined" in the body. I'm hoping you or someone else can look into this.31Views0likes0CommentsTokens
So I loved hughesnet for the first 6mo then bam- it went downhill. I never once had to purchase any tokens until the 7th mo in, didn’t even know about them actually. Anyway found them on my acct so I purchased some, a lot. It wasn’t that bad though because they were basically $1 per token which is a mb (if I’m saying that correct, maybe a gb idk) ok fine I’ll pay that, no problem. Spent $245 in Nov on tokens, which was worth it because the service was so horrible. Anyway I go to purchase tokens at end of cycle for Dec and what in the world? They changed the token prices tremendously!! Used to be $25 for 25 or $50 for 50 & so on- now it’s absolutely ridiculous, they changed it to $75 for 25?? Why?? I get 200 in my plan and pay around $89 a mo- and now they charge this much for the tokens just so I can have good service after my 200 run out?? And mind u 200 doesn’t go far period, about 10days at most!! Please make this make sense to me especially now that the service is awful and UNLESS I purchase tokens the signal is terrible, so limited & buffers so bad- it doesn’t even work half the time! Just awful. Really wish it was the awesome service it was for the 1st 6mo of having it- just doesn’t make sense why after 6mo it goes downhill? I have to buy tokens in order to stream on Netflix, my boys can’t play their PlayStations live, actually they’ve never have been able to do that!! I even disconnected my cameras (2) for security just so I wouldn’t use up so much of the plan!! Then they rack the tokens up to an enormous amount that it’s actually an insult. Didn't mind paying the price before but come on this is outrageous, it just doesn’t make sense?!? Wow.
