Unusual critters thread

I am told this is a wasp that cannot fly... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dasymutilla_occidentalis also known as the "cow killer."

I would occasionally see one of those when I lived in VA, as well as cicada killers (their prey).  I've not seen either of them this far north (western NY), though.  

 

My problem, as of late, is MOLES!!!  Darn things are tearing my lawn up.  GRRRRRRRR!!!!!

I had to look up "cicada killers," and now I'm sorry I did.  LOL

    Oh, we get those in the house sometimes. No idea how they get in.
