Streaming problem
My daughter can't stream her classes for college and they are all online, need help with speeds, have 20 g plan, would 30 g be any faster?
All Gen5 plans offer the same speed. When your plan data is exhausted, your speed will be throttled. With this said, as of recent, and due to people being home, they've increased the speed of the service for those who've exceeded their plan data, but it's not back up to the speed level of when one has plan data.
Also, right now, because of the incredible strain on the system with so many people being online and the high level of congestion as a result of it, streaming may be difficult. And if you're out of data and your speed is throttled, streaming may be even more difficult.
With all of this said, if you do still have plan data and you're having difficulty with the streaming, you can start a new topic in Tech Support to get help. In order for the reps to help with speed issues, they'll need some speed test results from testmy.net. The instructions for those speed tests are here. Please be sure to read the instructions thoroughly before running the tests. After you've run some tests, please post your testmy.net "My Results" page URL in that new topic you created so that the reps can view your test results.
