Flashing 'phone' icon on the Hughesnet Voice box - what does that mean?
This morning I noticed the light by the 'phone' icon flashing on the little box for Hughesnet Voice and I don't hear a dial tone. There are three icons: There is a steady light by the power icon,...
I tried powering down everything, but I still have a flashing 'phone' icon and no dial tone.
I tried:
1. unplugging the Hughesnet Voice unit.
2. unplugging the Hughesnet Modem
3. I waited a while
4. plugged the Hughesnet modem back in and waited over 5 minutes to be sure that internet access returned
5. I plugged the Hughesnet Voice unit back in
Same result: power is on to the Hughesnet Voice unit, the connection globe light is lit up, but the phone light is flashing instead of steady and there is no dial tone
I noticed when it is powered up the lights on the Hughesnet Voice unit go through this pattern:
- the power light comes on
- the system access globe light comes on and strobes a bit then it is steady
- the phone light comes on briefly then it shuts off
- the system access globe light strobes a bit more like more data is being exchanged
- the phone light comes on blinking and there is no dial tone
