No, a new bird doesn't help me now. I bit the bullet and upgraded to 50 Mbs. The price was near the same for the limited time. It will be good to see an improvement. Thanks for the replies.

I meant that if people move to the new satellite, you would see less congestion on yours.

Once the new bird is operational there may be an option to move to it. And with you being a longtime subscriber, even if you're currently locked into a commitment it might still be able to happen without a penalty, though I can't say for sure.
I remember moving from Echostar 17 to Echostar 19 not long after it came online, and it was well worth it. There were some decent offers at the time, and they might do the same with the Echostar 24.
