I received an advertisement in the mail:
"Blazing-fast Internet"
$59.99 $39.99 month for internet
Speeds from 25Mps-1Gbps
No Matter Where you Live
Now with Unlimited Data!
Save up to $20/month*
(in very small print) *$ off discount offers vary by service address.
So my question is: Why would you state no matter where you live, when your discount matters where you live? I am paying the regular amount of $59.99/month. I don't live in the middle of nowhere.
Even my installer said that was not correct and to contact Hughesnet.
The "No Matter Where You Live" refers to the ability to get HughesNet, as in it's available everywhere, barring line of sight issues.
The 25Mbps - 1Gbps doesn't make sense, though. It's 25Mbps only.
The discount, if it's legitimate, would be for new sign ups, not existing customers, and the discounts only last for a specific amount of time. Normally 12 or 24 months.
It's likely a reseller ad, especially with what's on it.
If you have the ability to scan or snap the ad and upload the picture it will probably be beneficial to the reps. Just make sure to edit your personal info out of it.
Here is the section of the add. I went to the godish.com/internet website and put in 5 different addresses in Dallas, Ennis, Ft. Worth, Corsicana and Allen and no one seems to be getting that $39.99 price for service according the results. I am curios to which part of the country you must live in to get the discount?
Here's the confusion: If you look closely at the ad, it doesn't specify who your provider will be. It just lumps a bunch of logos together: HughesNet, ATT, Xfinity, Frontier, Cox and CenturyLink, adding "plus other nationwide providers". All the specs they mention is basically a mashup of everyone's claims, when in fact they say they will find the best bundle available. Note that the disclaimer says "discount offers varies by service address", so I'm sure $39.99 is the maximum discount possible, if available at all.
I'm willing to bet the HN people hate bundle ads like this because it ultimately makes them look like liars, when Dish is the one being deceptive (like most resellers).
Good morning jonraden,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. As Gabe noted, this looks like a reseller ad. I can certainly pass your valuable feedback along to our sales department so they are aware.
Hi Jon,
Got a reply from sales, are you able to get a picture of the full ad?
Good morning Jon,
