Many web sites now use a ton of plugins, each requiring its own JavaScript module to be loaded. Many are internal to the site, some are external. The net result can literally be 100s of MB. Usually those things are cached in the browser. The first time it will fully load and cache it for later. After that you just get a 304 'not modified' code, skips it, and moves on to the next instruction. Possible that you cleared your cache or they updated their plugins at some point.

Just added my mods to 6.7.0 and noticed the period didn't wrap in mine. It shouldn't be, but I'm wondering if that was a Windows, JavaScript, or browser wierdness thing.

League expansion, bye weeks, and extra playoff games pushed it into February. It annoys me more is that there's more hype surrounding the game than the game itself. Then you sit though more flags, reviews, commercials and other distractions more than actual game time. On the plus side, it gives me a reason to make chili every year. My earliest SB memory:

League expansion, bye weeks, and extra playoff games pushed it into February. It annoys me more is that there's more hype surrounding the game than the game itself. @GabeU I used to be on Outroute 3 on Beam 68. Been on new Outroute 10 for seems like ages. It's not half the bandwidth like 7, but is still slightly reduced capacity from a normal channel.

The '1' seems to indicate you have two users set up with the name 'haroldmurphy'. Are you sure there's not another hidden one, since Apple just loves to do that with Library folders. What if you open a Terminal and type (without the '> '): > ls -la ~/Library/Application\ Support/HughesNet\ Usage\ Meter if it returns a list of files, you should be able to type (again, without the '> '): > rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/HughesNet\ Usage\ Meter to get rid of it. Edit: While you're in there, you might want to type: > ls -la /Users to see if you do in fact have multiple directories named 'haroldmurphy' in there.

How can there be no folder, when the error said there was: "/Users/haroldmurphy 1/Library/Application Support/HughesNet Usage Meter/status-meter.conf" Delete the "/Users/haroldmurphy 1/Library/Application Support/HughesNet Usage Meter" folder.

I'm assuming it's the HT2000w modem. Which wifi signal are you trying to connect to, the 2.4GHz or 5GHz one? On your laptop browser, go to http://192.168.42.1 and login to the wifi settings using the default 'admin' password (you can change it later under Adminstration -> Password Settings). How are the wifi channels set up at the modem from the main page? Recommend the following: 1. Security: WPA-Personal 2. Mode: WPA2 Also, from Advanced Setup -> Wireless: 1. 2.4 GHZ should be set to Wireless Mode 11b/g/n and Bandwidth 20/40. 2. 5GHz should be set to Wireless Mode 11a/n/ac and Bandwidth 20/40/80. 3. You can also set the security and mode (from above) for each band independently under -> 2.4GHz Primary Band and -> 5GHz Primary Band. On your iPhone/iPad, also recommend the following: 1. Auto-Join 2. Configure IP: Automatic 3. Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 4. Router: 192.168.42.1 5. Configure DNS: Automatic 6. Configure Proxy: Off There are some speed advantages to using 5GHz over 2.4GHz, but 2.4GHz tends to be more reliable at a further distance. Let me know if you have any questions.

@Reggie- You won't want to trade bills with me then. DTV costs are crazy enough, and between the way the networks 'negotiate' now and the way the F C C looks the other way... Imagine a major network like ABC or CBS being discontinued on your TV provider because of a contract negotiation. Nuts. Incidentally, found this to be a pretty good resource for planning OTA: http://www.tvfool.com/ When it gets warmer was going to fetch the extension ladder and see if I couldn't manually rotate in some stations (aka TV DX like a proper caveman). Probably needed to tweak the thing when we had the roof replaced anyway. Even thought of using a way to have my laptop local-skype a picture of the tuning meter of the TV up to my phone while I'm on the roof so I could see what was going on real time.

1. You first have to quit the meter app. 2. It's better that you delete the whole Usrs/xxxx/AppData/Roaming/HughesNet Usage Meter directory. The reason is because chances are there are other files (like the history cache) that are corrupted as well, not just the conf file. 3. Then restart it.

Be real careful of the terrain you're going to use it in. I'm in the foothills of the Piedmont, where even a 10' antenna mast mounted on the roof doesn't clear the top of the hill that's in the way. I'm roughly 50-60 miles from DC TV market, but with the terrain I might as well be 100 miles away. As a result I only get 3 reliable stations over the air: 2 of them were in the old VHF range (7 and 9), and one in the low UHF (30, and part of that station is actually only ~10 mi away). As you may know, the old analog channel numbers aren't necessarily similar in freuqency when it comes to the new digital stations are on. For example, what used to be Channel 4 (VHF low) here is now broadcasting on a frequency equivalent to what was Channel 48 (UHF).

Just want to add, that whatever "might be possible to do" is also partly responsible for the heavy congestion on the entire network. So when people complain about slow speeds and heavy buffering, remember that others using the system to watch TV is most likely contributing to it.

@maratsade@bare65 Found the same with the desktop app. I actually had a speedtest account at one time. Tried using it, but it told me I don't have one. Tried creating a new one and it told me there was an error. Pfft. Not playing this game with them.

Streaming gives more opportunity for in-process packet errors, meaning more repeated packets being sent, meaning more data being used. Downloading means you get the whole thing in one shot with hopefully less time for packet errors to occur. All things being equal, downloading should mean less data usage than streaming. And by equal, I mean the same program at the same resolution and total file size... which brings up another advantage: With downloading you know the data you should be using, whereas with streaming it's best guess by resolution. If I'm making it seem that downloading is just an all-round better option, it is - not only for your own local bandwidth but for everyone else's as well. Edit: Should also add that if you're downloading anything much more than 3-400Mb per hour of programming you're probably wasting bandwidth.
