Just wanna point this out so if anyone runs across this thread in the future... HN7000 has Turbo Page - This can't be toggled in the modem, to disable or enable(default) you had to call into support to do so.  I am unsure of whether the Turbo Page status is displayed anywhere in the modem. HN9000 has Turbo Page - This CAN be toggled in the modem, and is displayed in the settings. HT1000, HT1100, HT2000w has Web Acceleration (WAS), and this can be toggled on/off in the modem as needed. ... View more

Hello sli-er_15,   Thank you for your patience while I worked on addressing your outstanding concern. Just got out of a meeting and learned more info regarding how the Usage Meter is displayed. We're aware that the current Usage Meter is not useful for customers such as yourself with a daily allowance in MBs, so it is on our roadmap to create a Usage Meter that's better suited for customers in that situation. While we don't have a timeframe for when this will happen, it is certainly planned for the future. Actually, Hughesnet is offering Gen5 service, but only in very select portions of Alaska...  It's rather difficult to provide service that far north... Alaska has I think a grand total of 5 beams which would cover a large chunk of the USA, however, due to the location, they become long narrow spots up there and can't cover as much land mass... ... The change was implemented on 11/8 for all AK sites. According to the engineer your site is currently down, so he's unable to make the appropriate adjustment so you can have the correct free download period time. I honestly don't know where the gateways are located for the 7000 system anymore. It used to be that the Germantown MD was it. I think that is all "head NOC" now ... all supposition. Things have changed so drastically since Spaceway3 and Echostar17. Hughes has added massive infrastructure. Here is a topic I started just having to do with ES17 and beam/gateways: https://community.myhughesnet.com/hughesnet/topics/beams-gateways-and-loading-overloading The number of active satellites and transponders has been greatly reduced. They could have squeezed what little 7000 traffic in nearly anywhere. I don't know how many WA servers are built into the modems "short list" of options either. The guess is .... 4 for the HN1100 Gen4 and those are incremented up by a combination of "disable WA" and MBX Reset. 7000's were to the best of my recollection .... teardown, teardown, teardown ... 3 to 5 times .. then it was good for a while. Can't offer up any better than that. The Mods Monday may chime in but .... 7000's now are all either legacy or only in Alaska. Mainstream knowledge is getting rare. ... View more

I just found out a few days ago that my Hughesnet router shows what devices are currently connected. I was just goofing around, seeing what all my router could do, when I stumbled upon it, lol! I'm glad I did because it showed seven devices connected at that moment when there shouldn't have been more than four. I suspected my house guests had been fibbing about what devices were connected and I knew I was losing data at an alarming rate, but then I had the evidence right in front of me, haha! Network and password have been changed, and router password too. They went out and bought some sort of internet hot spot thingy and 2GB of data and claimed that would last them a month.
