Space Systems/Loral built this Ultra High Density Satellite (UHDS) for Hughes Network Systems. This will be the heaviest geostationary satellite ever launched at 9.2 metric tons.
The launch date is currently targeted for Thursday, July 27, 2023 at 3:04 AM (UTC).
What improvements over Gen5? Will the plans prices change to accommodate the improvements? Will a new modem be required ? Big bird !

Looks like they finally got it launched yesterday (7/29).
It was going to be on the 24th. I hope they do launch it on the 27th.
