Can the Hughes HT2000W Modem be used as Router only

Just thinking hypothetically since I purchased my Gen 5 hardware straight out and not leased it... if one day I am no longer on Hughes Satelite, can the HT2000 be used as a router only w/o having access to Hughes service?

Just curious.  I own mine so would be nice to know when/if that time ever comes.  Rumor is fiber will come here one day but not holding my breath.  LOL.

  • Hello Thomas,

Thank you for reaching out. The HughesNet built-in router can only work in conjunction with the modem. Therefore, it cannot be used as an external router. I hope this helps. :)

    Thanks,
