Mods, the footer links on every page link to the page one is already on.
Examples:
If I'm on https://community.hughesnet.com/t5/Tech-Support/Data-Usage-With-Jupiter-3/td-p/141479, all the links at the bottom (Legal, FAQs, Contact Us, etc.) will link to https://community.hughesnet.com/t5/Tech-Support/Data-Usage-With-Jupiter-3/td-p/141479.
If I'm on https://community.hughesnet.com/t5/Hughesnet-Support-Community/ct-p/HNSupport, all the links in the footer will direct to https://community.hughesnet.com/t5/Hughesnet-Support-Community/ct-p/HNSupport.
Weird! Could you fix, please?
While hovering over them they all show the same address, but when I clicked on them they all go to the correct location.
Not for me. They just return me to the page I was on.
EDIT: They are working for me now, but when I posted, I had tested the issue on several browsers and it was the same with each of them: clicking was taking me to the page I was clicking from.
Hey maratsade,
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I sent your experience to our web developers to inquire on if there was some temporary known issue that was worked out or a symptom of something else. I will provide an update when I receive the reply.
Cheers, Amanda!
When I mouseover the links, I see the link to the page I'm currently at. All 4 of the links in the footer point to the page I'm currently at.
Clicking on the links now takes me to where they're supposed to go. This wasn't happening when I posted last night; clicking took me to the page I was already on.
If I right click on the link and copy the link address, I get the link for the page I'm currently on. For example, right clicking on "Legal" yields https://community.hughesnet.com/t5/Tech-Support/Footer-links-issue/m-p/141537#. Same for the other 3. Happening on all browsers, regular and incognito, and on HN and other networks.
Hey maratsade,
I'm hearing it is a little tough trying to replicate when it is working. However, is it possible when you initially had this issue, you were right clicking to open in a new tab, but when you tried again later, you left clicked? I am able to replicate your link redirect issue by right click+new tab in Chrome.
I do also see what you mean about the hyperlinks not reflecting the right url. I am not sure if that is something the community team can fix or if we need to have it done within the broader scope of our site. When I go to https://my.hughesnet.com/en/support/faq and reach the footer there, all the links show "https://my.hughesnet.com/en/#" when hovering/copying. However! When I right click+new tab those links, they go to the right pages! What an odd set of events. Will keep digging, thanks again for letting us know!
@Amanda , the first time I noticed the issue and posted the OP, I had both right clicked and left clicked, and both actions were redirecting me to the page I had clicked from. Later, when @GabeU posted, the issue had almost solved itself. I could left click but not right click.
The issue persists for right clicking on all the browsers I've tried. It works for left clicking, though.
Solving this may be more trouble than it's worth, and so I'm fine if it doesn't get solved or if the community team doesn't want to deal with it. 😊 It's just a curious issue because it didn't use to happen.
I've also bookmarked the links (and I know the link for the legal node by heart....LOL).
My plan was to refer subscribers to the footer as a shortcut to the the linked pages, but I can just post the relevant link.
Thank you very much for all the help, especially for helping on what's no doubt a very minor issue. 🤪

Same here. Right clicking, then clicking "Open link in a new tab" (or window) results in opening this same page again. Left clicking goes to the proper page.
Interestingly enough, left clicking on 'Terms and Conditions' or 'Legal' automatically opens a new tab with the corresponding page, but clicking on 'FAQs' or 'Contact Us' goes to the corresponding page without opening a new tab.
To me that would seem to indicate an odd browser problem. The link is the link. The browser interprets what to do with it on a left or right click. Does this seem to happen only on one brand of browser (e.g., Chrome)?
Edit: Wait a minute... now I think I understand. The links are created dynamically in Javascript with the originating page followed by a hash. So left-clicking on "Terms and Conditions" goes to "T&Cs", but right clicking gets munged. In this case it seems the Javascript may be need to be tweaked.
Edit2: Likely something included from the lithium footer code (if lithium's like wordpress). I can't see anything when I look at the raw page code using Cmd-U in Firefox.
@Amanda
Hiya,
So we think it is linked to just a couple of lines of code, you are correct. There are some backend components that are not critical, but it can likely be fixed, we just need to do a little tweaking or re-arranging. Thanks again!
