So, the last 3 evenings, I have lost internet in the evenings...from about 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm. It starts working fine around midnight and the morning hours. I called tech support last night around 10:00 pm and they ran a test on my modem and said that something was wrong with my modem and scheduled a technician to come out in 3 days for $24.99. I ran a system status check while on the phone with support. And it was coded in red. I ran it this morning and EVERYTHING is working fine...system status is in green. I hate to pay $25.00 for them to come out on Friday morning to tell me that everything looks good. My service has always slowed down at night. Any ideas?
@cmy1021 ,
The tech can still tune up the system, and if it's something with the system that's causing the problem, that should (one hopes) fix it. If it's something else, say, congestion in the evenings, or something else outside of the system, then the problem may persist.
The reps here may have some other information for you -- they can see your case notes and give you some advice.
It was working fine at 4:00 pm. Then at 5:00 pm, internet went down again. The system status showed that "TCP acceleration is down"...whatever that means.
I'd definitely have the tech come out, as they may very well be able to figure out the cause.
Judging by the way it happens, it wouldn't surprise me if it has something to do with condensation, whether in a fitting(s) or the radio itself. As the day cools down condensation starts to build up. That's just a guess, and the cause may be something else entirely.
