Why is Hughes.net soooooooooooo slooooooowwwwww today June 30, 2016?????

Terminal - Gateway Connectivity Test Thu Jun 30 16:32:51 2016
 Packet Loss: 0.00%
Average Delay: 648.00 ms
Minimum Delay: 550.00 ms
Maximum Delay: 1130.00 ms

It has been impossibly slow today, no rain nor wind here.  Just Hughes baddddd lack of service.
Many pages were slow to load if they ever did.

And I did several things to clear history and Disk Clean up.

Then I added a token and it did not show up....

Is the Hughes Net Satellite in the sky broken today?????

I t could go to 192.168.0.1 in the browser then click on system status and see what your IP Gateway Association State says this will tell us which gateway you are on.

I am on Tuscon Gateway and it is working very good.

What goes up (your signal to the satellite) must come down (from the satellite to your Gateway).

Bad weather at either end can effect your performance.

A good read when you have time, it explains Gateways and much more about satellite internet: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satellite_Internet_access

Flagstaff AZ here.

Sloooooow and "fragile" would describe it.

Haven't bothered with a weather check, last time weather.com lied like a Dog.

Hi ablstnlki12,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the community! I hope our community members were able to provide some assistance. Are you still experiencing slow service? Can you head over here http://192.168.0.1 and tell us what you see? Hope to hear from you soon.

Thank you,

I been using system as I try to work from home and its painfully show!  I have spent hours on the phone with these people and nothing has helped.  Going to have to pay $400 to get out of contract which sucks as well.  It's just plain bad business.  I will at least write a comment on BBB.

BBB will help in what way ?

It would help more is you took a peek at the modems internal SCC found at 192.168.0.1 and look at your current remaining data and any recent error codes.

Try your best to grasp this:

There is a lot of bad weather in the location of many of the Gateway locations.

The BBB, NRA, FBI, FCC and the rest of the three letter agencies are as powerless in controlling the weather as Hughes is.

Run some speed tests at testmy.net ... manual test, 12 MB in size. Post a link to your account results or a screenshot.

As to "work from home" .... are you using a VPN ?

Slow .... well, without data, its just another opinion.

Might alert the NSA too.
