@RemyOur wifi extender arrived yesterday, Hooking it up went very smoothly and wow, night and day difference. Laptop hooked up to 5g connection because it refused to connect to the 2.5 wifi connection.. before extender 2 bars Now... 4 bars.... Living room tv... It gave me a fit at first saying there was no connection, I had to unplug it, wait 30 sec, plug it back in and power it on and rescan for SSID's and then put in the wifi password and it connected just fine! THANK YOU AGAIN!! You saved me $150.00!!! Chris

I am needing the modem moved...... When I initially signed up in 2020, I did it online at hughesnet.com and a LOCAL installer came out and did the installation... The installer DID NOT say anything about it being in a bad spot for whole house wifi coverage. Well the wifi coverage covers the bedroom the modem is in, living room and dining room.... Kitchen and master BR the signal drops down to 1 to 2 bars and the internet barely works. I chatted with tech support via the hughesnet.com website and they toid me that there's a 150 dollar USD fee to move the modem!!! FORGET THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Since I am out of my contract, if I cancel my current account and go back on HN.com and put the account under my name, and SSN # ( right its under someone else's name that lives in this house). Would that trick the system into that I am a new customer? Or does HN go by the address? Thanks! EDIT: Our house is 1170 Sq feet.

@LizI just talked to a rep via chat and I told her that I need to up our data to another package that is EBB approved The lady then asks me about our equipment. I was like 1 TV, 2 phones, 1 computer, 2 google homes, 1 alexa How much do you stream? I said we just cut the cord so... I'd say a few hours a day? even though I use @GabeU 's PLAYON app to download most things. I said the Googles and Alexa are for questions and music for when we're in the shower. Lady: Well your best bet would be our 75 gig package for 145.00 a month and you can have your EBB with the highest package we offer. Me: I can't do that... I was told the highest the EBB benefit goes is the 50 gig package? And that the 75 gig package would end my EBB benefit. What do you have thats above what I am on now thats EBB approved? Lady: 45 gig package and you can have the EBB with the 45 gig package She assured me that I am still going to get the EBB benefit.. I am confused now....

I just started over today with my plan... What 45 gigs? Why did I only get 30 again? I've been a customer since 11/2020 so I should of gotten the upgrade I thought? I was really excited for the new plan 😞 Chris

Oo nice! We're getting a boost? I had no clue this was happening. I reset in 2 days, I wonder if I will see the free boost on my next cycle? I've been a customer since 2020. I just wonder how much more my bill is going to go up? Or will I get the 45 gigs for the price of 30?

@GabeU @Remy Well it did it again yesterday... I got an email to download a tv show and it started to download.. then Firefox would say FAILED.... I tried again by hitting resume in the download manager window, it would try again and then FAIL.... Well in the top right corner of my Gnome 3 desktop the icon for network connection was transparent with like a ? mark over it... Nothing would load at all.... I unplugged the modem, waited 30 sec, and then plugged it back in, and only the power light, the WIFi, and Ethernet connection light came on... the 3 middle icons were off... I waited 2 min and unplugged the modem again and waited for 30 sec, plugged it back in and the modem started up like normal. I am telling you SOMETHING ain't right.... But after that.. As you see... all is well until nexttime.... We went through that plan change from 20 gigs to 30 gigs in 9 days 😞 But now that we're downloading during the free time, I shouldn't use up all of my daytime data as fast.. I HOPE....

@GabeUI figured out on my own how to convert my account and I am currently doing a test download to see if its going to work. And so far its working even though i'm out of data. So I am keeping my fingers crossed that this is gonna stick. But I really wished someone from Hughes would check my equipment because thats weird that an app could just cause a modem to go nuts.

@GabeUWell you can rule out that its the PlayOn account thats causing the issue because I just got home from a doctors office * haha shameless plug* and I was able to download 5 epsiodes of a show to my phone. @GabeU I just tried a different phone and it started to download the show but it kept starting the download over. I am going to try tonight to leave PlayOn open, have the phone plugged in, and set PlayON to only download between 2:02 AM and 8:00 AM and see if the epsiodes download I am also going to be disconnecting all phones but this one phone from WIFI and see if maybe that could be doing it? But I would rather use my phone that does have cellular service because its has 30 gigs storage where the phone I am going to be using I think only has 16. I do have a SD card coming. To do scheduled downloads it says the phone has to be plugged in and the PlayOn app has to be open and WIFI connected. We do have ( not all running at the same time) 2 Google Homes, 1 Alexa, 3 phones, and a computer. @LizI do have a case #... But talking to the Philipenes got me no where.......

@GabeU Well, I got it working again by unplugging the modem, waiting 30 sec and then plugging the modem back in. I got 2 epsiodes downloaded to my phone and then transfered them to a USB stick just to see if the tv will pick up on the USB stick and it did, I turned the tv off, plugged the stick in and then turned the tv back on and it popped up something about Roku player ( The tv has ROKU built into it ) detected a USB stick and did I want to use Roku player to play the media? And I hit yes. But now, I just tried to download another epsiode.. And the wifi has took a CRAP... Alexa is saying she's having trouble connecting to the internet AGAIN!!!!!

@GabeUUPDATE: All of a sudden... I was downloading 1 epsiode of a tv show to my phone and it just quit downloading it. Now nothing in the house will connect to wifi.. Alexa has a red ring when you say her name my phone says Hug2g767245 Connected / No internet I rebooted the modem... And wifi is still not letting anything connect Seriously.. W T F ?????

@GabeUI am having a problem with play on: I got an email saying that something I recorded is ready for download: I clicked on the link: Recorded on: Feb 1, 2022 Download <https://playon.app.link/recordings> I hit log in with my facebook account And this pops up: Server Error: 400 (Bad Request) What does this mean? The server cannot or will not process the request. I cleared my Firefox cache and tried again... Same error.... How am I supposed to be able to download the recordings?

@GabeUOh, then that might work if they send me an email to download the show manually then I wouldn't need that program at all. So it *MIGHT* work after all. And in your other now deleted posts.. Yes I have a android phone.

Well it says for Netflix it only needs up to 3 MB to stream in standard def. Which is what believe I have each user set as now. PlutoTV it works " alright" but due to it being LIVE tv.. It does buffer at times. @Liz and @GabeU What do ya'll think?

I am just curious: I am thinking about cutting the cord on Dish Network in April. We upgraded to the 30 gig plan from the 20 gig on or around the 22nd and were now at 66%.. 😞 But, that was before I found a way to cut the consumption of data down. I have now set Netflix to use Low resolution, and the picture still looks fine, spotify on low data useage while on wifi, anything that I could change the quality on to use less data, thats what I did. So I want to know, since everything is on LOW data useage, will we still be able to watch streaming video when we run out of data or will it be like PLAY~~~~~~~BUFFER~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~PLAY~~~~BUFFER? Good morning @Liz ahhh now I see it EBB Service Credit 1 -$50.00 @maratsadeit's not supposed to run out, they just announced on tv that the EBB is changing names on 1/1 and will be perm, and as of 3/1 they will only be paying 30.00 a month. Which that will help me tremendiously since I was paying 91.00 until I found out about the EBB.
