CRAP SERVICE

I hate this company. It is the only option where I live and it is too expensive and the connection is **bleep**. I pay WAY TOO MUCH money for such a crappy service. I can't wait for another  option so I can cancel this CRAP!!! For what I pay, I SHOULD NEVER LOOSE CONNECTION!!!!!!

    Satellite internet is more expensive because the technology is WAY more expensive than terrestrial internet.  A satellite's bandwidth is limited, so it has to be shared by a whole lot of people, and when a lot of people are online, you may lose access.  It also is dependent on several weather phenomena, which can also mess up the connection.  So, for satellite internet, no one can say "I should never lose connection."  It's not not the reality of the technology. 

    Maybe you should post in the tech support section, so the Hughesnet reps on this site can look at your account and see if they can improve access for you (within the limits of the technology). 

    There's nothing else in your area? There are companies that say they cover the entire country.  

    Contact your local and state representatives and demand they bring other options to your area.  Be polite but insistent, and get more people to contact them too. 

    I know this doesn't help your current situation, but taking some action may get you more results than just venting.  Good luck!
