Useage Meter update in real time?
Good morning,
Thanks for getting back to me! Try the following steps and let me know if it helps at all:
- Start > Settings > Network & Internet
- From this page you should see your local network, be it wired or wireless.
- Under "Change your network settings" click "Change adapter options"
- A new window will open and you will see your network connections.
- One of them should be in the category "internet access", possible labeled Ethernet or Wi-Fi.
- Right click that icon and select "Properties"
- From the new popup box, click "Configure"
- Yet another box... Click on the tab labeled "Power Management"
- Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"
- Click OK
Please let me know if you don't see a certain setting or option.

Hi El_Dub,
I may know what is going on here... Are you using a laptop or desktop and what operating system?

It should update periodically, say every 1-2 minutes or so. The modem polls your usage from the system every so often, and the app polls the modem every so often, albeit not necessarily at the same time.
The process cuts down on network congestion so everyone's not tying the system up with status pings.
If you need a more immediate update, just click on the area you're already on and it will force it to refresh the display with the most current data at the modem. - Amanda7 years agoModerator
