Echostar sending a satellite to the boneyard: https://finance.yahoo.com/news/echostar-iii-satellite-recovered-retired-150000045.html
Don't usually hear about satellites beyond their life expectancy, served a good long life into old age I suppose.
Pretty cool. 🙂
"now safely in a graveyard orbit more than 350 kilometers above the geostationary arc" - More space junk. 😞
We really should just push them towards the sun. Its like putting wood in a fire right? Keep it burnin'
And if we miss, we may have an incoming man made meteor. 🙂

Lol....maybe the heavy metals will keep it burning 1/10th of a second longer out of its 4 billion+ year life expentancy. And then only if it made it to the core, not burnt up millions of miles out from it. Not much wood on the fire. Now you've gone and renewed my interest in the sun and how it works. Thanks alot Amanda! Been trying to retire my nerd side.
