I've just upgraded to GEN-5. Working great thus far! I have no clue though how to turn on and off the Video Data Saver feature (other than you are supposed to be able to). Would appreciate a little help.
Thanks, Larry
Solved! Go to Solution.
Okay, here's the deal. I called support and they have created a case. They could also not see the video optimization options showing up for my account at any of the places they were supposed to be. GEN-5 being so new in my area seems to be the issue. Case number assigned and solution to be worked on. Very nice, knowledgable, determined young man helped. Yes he had an accent. No, that wasn't a problem. He was a bulldog in his desire to be of service.
My intuition tells me that even if I knew what the SCC was, I still couldn't tell you.

SCC is System Control Center.

Oh Yeah, that thing... IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE THERE... It's not: that's the problem. It is not in any of the 4 places it's supposed to be.

Actually, when it comes to the SCC, it's not supposed to be there. It's not there for anyone. Jezra is saying that it should be. I agree with him.
As for it not being for you in the three places it should be, I hope they fix it for you.
Someday... my setting will come.
Very convoluted but if I go here: https://shop.hughesnet.com/members/index.cfm?action=dspHomepage then click on settings at the bottom, there it is even on Gen 4. Seems to be very hidden even for us that can get to it.
Still forbidden fruit to me. Here's what I get with the final click:
Hey, @larrykelly I was wondering if the video data saver setting ever showed up for you?
NOT YET. 😢
I check every day. I will be sure to report here when it does.

I'm in business:
Reviving this topic after a couple of customers asked about this feature.
I don't see the Video Data Saver icon/option in the HughesNet Usage Meter (ver. 6.6.0).
Also, I can't check if the features available in the HughesNet Mobile app because it won't let me sign in, even though my log-in information is correct. I just get a message: This account is not allowed to login. For further information or assistance, please call Customer Care at 866-347-3292
I uninstalled my 6.6.1 meter and installed the 6.6.0 meter to see. On checking, the VDS was there.
I wonder if it could be tied to the issue of you not being able to sign in with your credentials, like the system is having some type of hiccup. Perhaps it's tied to the beam or gateway you and/or your customer are assigned to?
